Never have I been so dissatisfied in a resturaunt. Firstly, the food was not good at all, cheap, soggy, cold and honestly quite disgusting. The server heard us (I'm sure) complaining often about the food quality, and not once did she ask if everything was going alright, but she did keep up with refills and plate removal.
After we were done eating we went to pay and we asked if they had MSG in their food, to which the cashier said yes, very little. We then told him how we were disappointed in the food quality and service and how under previous management it seemed to be much better. He said we have 100,000 people come here and nobody complains ( definitely not true just browsing these reviews alone) and that we need to just write a bad review for them and shut us down, go ahead. He used those words. I was shocked. In customer service jobs (which i have worked my entire adult life) you put on your best face and try to help the situation, not push customers away when they have a legitimate complaint.
This is the last time I will ever dine there, and I'd reccomend that you save your money and do the same. Honestly a bag of orange chicken from Wal-Mart would be infinitely better. 3 out of 4 family members including myself also feel quite ill after eating there.
Tl;dr: The food and service was awful, manager (or owner, not sure) was extremely rude. Don't go here if you value your money,...
Read moreAs an Asian person, I walked into Hong Kong Buffet hoping for even the slightest taste of home. Instead, I was served a sad buffet of cold, soggy, flavorless disappointment. The noodles looked like they lost a fight with a wet mop, and the General Tso's chicken tasted like it had been microwaved in 2003 and left under a heat lamp ever since.
To make things worse, they forgot to give my brother his drink—and when he went to grab one himself, they charged him extra. So not only do they serve food with the texture of damp cardboard, they charge you extra for fixing their own mistakes. Amazing.
The restaurant was nearly empty, and not a single Chinese person in sight—except me. That should’ve been the first red flag. It’s like going to an Italian restaurant and realizing the chef thinks marinara is ketchup.
The only highlight of the meal was walking out the door and realizing I’d never have to suffer through it again. It met none of my expectations—unless those expectations were to experience regret in its purest form.
If you want to punish your taste buds, feel underappreciated, and donate your money to what is essentially a buffet-shaped scam, then by all means, go to Hong Kong Buffet. Otherwise, do your stomach a favor and eat literally anywhere else—even gas station sushi is...
Read moreI have been to Chinese buffetts all over the world this one is the most horrible one I have eaten at. The Cashier was friendly. Coconut shrimp was labeled as cheesy shrimp, when I asked the Cashier what was cheesy shrimp he answered it's their version of Coconut Shrimp shrimp was nasty the sauce was an orange color. Fried rice had green beans, & corn it no eggs, peas, and carrots. Lomein was spaghetti with cabbage The waiter kept coming to our table every 5 minutes asking if everything was OK which was getting annoying he knew the food was horrible. I asked the waiter for some dipping sauce for the chicken bites he stated they have hot mustard, red pepper oil. I chose the hot mustard which was actually yellow horseradish. I dipped my chicken in the hot mustard ate it & I almost passed out my nose start burning, it opened up my nostrils. I asked the waiter why he didn't tell me that the hot mustard was potent his reply was it states hot mustard I answered that is not mustard. Chicken wings didn't have no meat on them all you saw was the bones. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT. The Department of Health should shut that establishment down. They are the only Asian buffett in Branson go 30 minutes to Springfield & enjoy a real...
