OK - So it pains me greatly to give three stars to a DONUT SHOP, but after two similar experiences, I consider it warranted.
First the good: The donuts here are delicious and hand crafted (maybe not as delicious as a fresh Duck Donut, but still tasty). There is a wide variety of flavors, so it would be difficult to not find what you are looking for here.
The staff is always friendly and patient (there is usually a line of customers, and most of us can’t decide what we want…..). I’ve never had a problem with any of the staff and customers can watch the donuts being made through the large pane windows to the back.
On the not so good side: They make two gargantuan sized treats: cinnamon rolls and apple fritters. The cinnamon rolls are jumbo sized, equivalent to some others in Branson. It is a full meal if you choose. The apple fritters are the largest fritters I’ve ever seen!
On both of these treat-zillas, the first and second bites are awesome. The flavor is great. Especially on the fritters, the dough was delicately browned on the outside, light, airy and fluffy on the inside. It was more like a cake than a donut. Both of these have excellent flavors and they are not TOO overly sweet.
However, on BOTH of these mega-sweets, the insides are very doughy—almost raw and inedible. I know some people may like their treats like this in a very doughy consistency, but I prefer my pastries to be done (no soggy bottoms and no raw dough).
Cinnamon rolls and apple fritters are among my absolute favorites for a snack—but in BOTH of these cases, I had to throw away about half of each treat. That makes the cost unreasonable.
A message to Hurts Donuts: please cook your monster items more thoroughly—your customers deserve this on a premium-priced pastry!
Keep in mind that if I had to rate based upon just those two items, I would have to give one star—completely unacceptable. However, because the rest of their pastries are outstanding, I considered it fair to go half way.
To customers out there who want a great donut—this is a wonderful place to go. However, beware of their “pastries del grande”—they may not be...

"Really Good Freaking Donuts!"
Hurts Donut Company is an absolute treat for gourmet donut lovers! Nestled in Branson, Missouri, this sweet spot offers an impressive selection, ranging from nostalgic childhood flavors to inventive creations, including gluten-free options and playful choices. While the prices are a bit higher than average, I found the quality and satisfaction to be well worth it.
Food: I sampled a variety of donuts during my visit, and my top picks were the classic old fashioned and the delightful lemon pie. Each donut was not only creative but also incredibly tender. However, a few were on the sweeter side due to the extra sugar, but overall, the selection was fantastic!
The service here was commendable. The staff was attentive and assisted us with the menu, answering our questions.
As for the atmosphere, it was bright and inviting! The walls were adorned with fun decor and playful donut-themed pictures that added to the charm. I enjoyed soaking in the vibrant surroundings while browsing through the various donut options.
Overall, Hurts Donut Company is a wonderful spot to check out. With its lively energy, delicious donuts, and family-friendly vibe, it’s a must-visit when in...
Read moreSo Hurts Pretends to sell a premium donut experience. You would think if that was the case you would be Able to get something as simple as water out of the soda fountain. I Questioned the young Doughnut wrangler behind the counter about the water situation and was surprised and even delighted by her candor. In the most Exceedingly polite manner she informed me that the powers that be had Deemed it a money making opportunity and purposely removed the water tap from the soda fountain so that they could sell bottled water at an inflated price for profit. Being no stranger to business, I completely understand and respect capitalism. That being said when I was running my business it was founded on a simple principal And that was taking care of people. Your Already making a ridiculous Profit on Charging nearly $30 for a dozen donuts. Why not just have a water tap on the soda Fountain in your establishment? it would be a help to the customers and would’ve have personal made me feel much better spending my money there. As a result of this level of Greed, I’m not going to Spend my money there and i’m writing this negative review And I’ll probably tell all my friends about my experience tomorrow. I hope the few extra bottles of water you sell is worth alienating customers. We...
