If there was an option for less than a star, I would give them even less. I am completely baffled at the reviews saying it's clean and that they have lots of amenities!! I can't see how a room as filthy, run down and disgusting as ours is the only unclean, gross room. The people that checked in right beside us also talked to me and had to clean their room before they brought their stuff in, and I saw their room, too, and it was equally as disgusting as ours. They have lots of weekly rooms where people stay long term, so I'm sure they may feel the need to be positive, but there is nothing positive about this place. The only decent spot is the office and that one room with the hot tub we saw, I believe. This has to be the filthiest, most run down place my husband and I have ever stayed. The pictures on line show a room that looks staged compared to what we got. There are no refunds, either. We were put at the back, and when we walked into the room, there was a metal bed frame with no headboard, and there were no towels, washcloths or toiletries or even a trash can. There was a couch that had some cushions that clearly did not belong with the couch, which looked like something put on the curb of an eviction, and there were close to 50 dead flies on the dirty parquet flooring. We also had live flies, as well. My husband was working out of town in Branson, so we got the room for a whole week. My husband went and bought a broom, mop, bleach, trash can, trash bags, rubber gloves and other cleaning supplies, and when we mopped the floor, the mop head was pure black, and there were more dead flies in the window behind the curtains. We had to bleach all the door handles, and there were dried, drippy stains from who knows what on the walls. No ice machine, either. I am in a wheelchair and was afraid to even take off my shoes, because the filth ruined anything that touched the floor. I even wore rubber gloves the whole time, because I was afraid to touch the wheels of my wheelchair. I was recovering from major surgery, so I was afraid of catching some nasty, dangerous bacteria, because the wheels of my chair were in constant contact with the sticky, black residue that had adhered to the floor. Outside the door, there was an old, dingy, plastic oblong bowl to catch the condensation from the air conditioner, and it had stagnant water in it, so mosquitos were swarming constantly, so going outside the room for fresh air wasn't even possible or healthy at that point to me anyway. Due to the filth, I had to have my husband drive me back home almost 3 hours away, because I was too worried about getting an infection post surgery. While my husband was looking for the ice machine, he noticed there was one room at the end of our building just a couple of doors down, and the curtains were open, so he glanced through the window as he passed by, and it had a hot tub, a couch with matching cushions, and it was the polar opposite from the rest of the hotel!! I'm assuming that is the room that is shown on their website. It is a trap, though, because the rest of the rooms look like somewhere a crack addict would stay. We saw two people who rented it, so I'd be willing to bet the one positive review they have up is from the people who stayed in it, because no one in their right mind would actually pay to stay in the other rooms, unless they just don't care about cleanliness. In my 45 years of travel, I will go on the record and say this is absolutely the filthiest, most disgusting place I've EVER had the misfortune to stay. I don't even know how these people stay in business!! I guess they aren't regulated by the health department. I really hate to leave negative reviews, but I hope this review will deter others who think they will get a room similar to the one they show on their website. I will NEVER step foot in that place again, and if cleanliness matters to those considering staying there, this place will be a HUGE...

I’m a cynical journalist with extensive travel experience, and I’ve only been inclined to write several complimentary reviews. Managers and spouses Tracey and Bryan and caring assistants, Steve. Rachel and Frankie, all live on-site; are always available to help guests; answer questions; and monitor many well-placed security cameras. A rowdy dude showed up and was escorted out! Full-attention to detail surprised me with zero issues. I usually have been able to find at least one in hotel stays. I was amazed at how friendly and energetic the maids and groundskeepers are as they appear in constant motion. If you are a hiker, why would you stay anywhere else? The rear parking lot connects to a 10-mile trail that includes the state park. Read moreI will start by saying the staff were very friendly, beds were comfy and location was good. However, cleanliness is high on my list of importance and this hotel bombed out! I have never been in any hotel where your feet would stay cleaner walking barefoot on the blacktop outside than on the carpet in your room! There was a blood stain and mildew along the bottom six inches of the cloth shower curtain, both of which would be easily cleaned with a little bleach in the wash. Vacuuming and dusting are basic cleaning jobs yet there was dust and cobwebs everywhere and we found a petrified cheetoh full of hair next to the night stand. The portable fridge/freezer had so much ice that we had to defrost it and then it still froze everything we put in it....we were wakened in the night to the sound of our soda cans exploding! The knob to adjust the temp was missing. We could not even put the garbage from our rooms into the trash cans outside because they didn't get emptied and they were swarming with bees and wasps. When I see that very basic cleaning has not been done, it makes me wonder whether the bathroom has been cleaned or sheets have been changed since the last tenant. Other complaints I feel need to be addressed: There is no phone in the room, yet their check-in papers say to dial 0 from the room to contact the front desk for help. There is no coffee pot in the room....not everyone ONLY drinks coffee in the morning between the hours of 7-9:30 when the breakfast room is open. When there is a DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door, I expect hotel staff to respect my privacy and NOT enter my room. No blanket on the bed....sheet and bedspread only. I do not use the bedspread at hotels because they are not typically washed between patrons, while the sheets and blankets are SUPPOSED to be washed when the room is vacated. I understand that this is not a high-end hotel but I feel that basic amenities and cleanliness SHOULD be expected. Do not expect your room to match the appearance of...
