We arrived in the lobby at 11:45 on a Sunday 4/13/25 for a quick lunch... The place was probably less than 50% capacity. We waited in the lobby for 15 minutes before being seated. We then waited another 30 minutes at our table before anyone took our order. Our food came out at 1:35pm. The food was good but overpriced for what we got. Our daughter ordered a cheese flatbread (pizza) with bbq sauce. We were charged for a bbq pulled pork flatbread. The waiter would not make an adjustment to the price when we brought it to his attention. The place was visibly dirty, unorganized, and poorly staffed which is a shame because I really wanted to enjoy this place. It has a lot of potential. It desperately needs new management. This place lost 3 families worth of customers in one sitting.
To respond to the owners comment with more detail about our experience: The hostess or whoever she was, never told us it would be a long wait or we would have gone somewhere else. She may have actually been the bar tender covering the front door at the same time because nobody else was there. She told us she would have someone pull some tables together because we asked to sit on the patio. While we waited, I noticed several dirty tables like people had been done eating and left before we got there and nobody cleaned off the tables the whole time we waited. There are also tools and a ladder in the front area like some sort of construction is being done, but nobody is currently working on it. The mess I'm talking about was nothing to do with napkins blowing in the wind on the patio. 15 minutes later the hostess came back complaining to us that she would just go pull the tables together herself. When we went outside, it was my group that actually pulled the tables together. Not that that's a big deal by itself, but this proves my point that there is a shortage of staff. The place did not look busier than any other restaurant that I've been to and this place is supposed to be designed to accommodate large crowds for entertainment. Our waiter was visibly struggling to keep up with his tables and that's ok, but we were still never told that it was going to take such a long time. However, he did let us know there were 2 orders ahead of us and he thanked us for not walking out. Maybe that should have been our indication that we were going to be there for a couple of hours. It just kept dragging out longer and longer and we respectfully gave him our patience. The drink and food item that was comped did not come off of my order. There were 3 tickets for 3 different families. A drink was comped for one ticket. Queso and chips were comped for another ticket. I paid full price for my ticket. The point I want to make here is even though we are out of towners, we visit Branson frequently. This was our first experience to the Social Birdy and by far the worst experience any of us have ever had at any restaurant across the country. This was a group of 3 separate families that shared this same experience. Let that sink in... It looks great that you have well over 100 good reviews. Trust me, that is what pulled us in and this is why I'm sharing a review in the first place. This is one bad review when I personally know of 2 other bad reviews that could be posted to Google as well. How many more bad reviews don't get posted? How many of those good reviews did you have to pay for? Please tell me when a good time and day is to visit the Social Birdy that can guarantee a better experience. (Don't say...
Read moreI personally had a bad experience here. I was very hopeful when my husband called, and a manager named Reese said we would be able to get in and use the golf simulator. So my husband and I went straight there. We paid 65 dollars for the simulator. It continually didn't work or detect the ball. Instead of recalibrating the equipment or offering a different section, we were told by Reese, "Some shots are just weird like that." Then he dismissed my husband. After we finished out our time and paid, the manager said, "I hope yall have a great night." And my husband said,"It can only get better from here." The manager asks."Did you play a bad game?". My husband said " I don't think it has to do with a bad game, but the fact that when you hit the ball on the right side of the screen, it has the ball shooting off into the left fairway. So I don't think it was so much a bad game as it was bad technology and tech equipment." Then the manager went into script mode and told my husband to "Have a good night. "
The service for the food wasn't a great experience. Our server came to us asking if it was our first time, and we said yes. She compared the restaurant like "Culver's" but more bougie. She was nice, but was running the bar and our table. We told her we needed a minute. When she came back and asked if we were getting anything. I told I her needed another moment to double-check with my husband if I knew what he wanted. I went to the bar and ordered the loaded nachos and an Arnold Palmer with sweet tea. It seemed overpriced for the low quality of food. I ended up biting a piece of pork fat the size of a golf ball that ruined the food for myself. My husband said the food was "alright, and the drink was actually pretty good."
This isn't my first time with a golf simulator. We aren't professionals in any manner, but we really enjoy the sport. To be honest, their lack of knowledge on how to troubleshoot their equipment was disappointing. The customer telling them that what they paid for isn't working, only to be greeted with "its weird like that on some shots." felt like that moment when you are at a carnival or arcade and you get ripped...
Read moreArrived to Social Birdy, and was dreading the walk up to the front door... nope, they thought of that! We were greeted at our vehicle by a nice gentleman on a golf cart who took us all the way up to the front door (thanks Ben!) where we were greeted by Dan who helped us with our pickleball reservation.
Pro tips: You can bring your own water bottle to fill up with ice water they provide. No other beverages or food are allowed in the court area (for good reason, no one wants to roll their ankle on a rogue French Fry, lol).
Once we were done pretending we were the Williams sisters, we decided to head upstairs for dinner. Lexie was a super server who never let our water run dry, and was super attentive.
We ordered a bunch of shareables and a few entrees. The brussel sprouts were crunchy and not soggy, a fan favorite at our table of five with ages ranging from 11 to 63(believe it or not the 63 year old is the picky eater😂). The spinach artichoke dip was edible. The onion rings were more like straws but still in ring form and had a good crunch and good flavor. Y'all let me tell you...RUN don't walk to the Fry Flight...you will not be sorry!! The TRUFFLE FRIES(if you like truffle fries) were so yummy! Then, lemon pepper fries y'all, what?! Yep, they did that too. Rounding it out with Sweet potato fries with a marshmallow dip. Yes, it is not a savory fry, definitely a dessert version, but still good. The backyard burger was large and cooked and seasoned well.
Overall, a great experience from beginning to end. We will definitely be back! What a great addition to Branson. Don't sleep on this place... so much to do here. We only took advantage of the pickleball. They also have corn hole, bocceball, putt putt, virtual golf....
