I went to see Joe Sib here and he was fantastic! I'll definitely go see him again. The two openers were also great.
This review is really more about the service, which is surprisingly bad. When we arrived, a server introduced herself and brought us water, telling us we could order through her or through the QR code on the table. Knowing how difficult it would be to gain a server's attention later, we ordered via our phones.
I ordered the pizza which was ok. Choices are limited if you're a vegetarian; non-existent if you're a vegan. The pizza was not fully cut and I had to tear it apart with me hands. Luckily, I had many napkins to make up for the lack of a fork or knife.
About halfway through my pizza, I ordered dessert, the mason jar with chocolate pudding, a few little pieces of chocolate cake, a huge mound of whipped cream, and a sprinkling of crunchy stuff and caramel. Plus, I got a scoop of ice cream on the side because I was expecting something much richer than what the mason jar turned out to be. (I didn't recommend it.) I requested 2 spoons and 2 full glasses of water.
When my dessert arrived, NO water. At all. I mentioned my request, and the server said she'd be back. But I never saw her again.
Meanwhile, I discovered I'd been given 2 forks!! One would have come in handy for dinner. Show me the person who prefers to eat ice cream with a fork, and I'll show you a sociopath. I proceeded to eat dessert with a fork because there was NO WAY to get a server's attention. Besides, I was still holding out hope my water would arrive and I could get the spoons I'd ordered. Of course, this never happened.
At some point, our original server was nearby and I managed to get a water refill. Before the show was finished, she returned to close out the bill. I missed the end of the show because I had to look at the bill; this really annoyed me.
As with so many restaurants now, unless you want to calculate a different percentage, the lowest one offered is 18%. I considered giving less, but ultimately decided the servers were probably working as hard as they could but were overworked. Whatever the case may be, the service left a lot...
Read moreWent to see Chris Titus and had a blast. He's a great comedian and this is about the 4th time I've seen him in 3 years. Even got to sit in the very front row this time even though we didn't get there early or anything . We just got walked to the front for some reason. It was great! The food/drink service at the Improv on the other hand was another story. Our waiter sucked and despite seating us so quickly, we were about the only ones who hadn't had out order taken even after the first comedian ended. The server kept saying he'd be right back as he served everyone else food and drinks but we hadn't even gotten a glass of water yet. We asked two other people if they could help us as they dropped off food for other people and were told they'd send out waiter back over but he just kept saying he'd be right back and that 'there was method to his madness.' then he got pissy and told us he had other customers, to which we replied that other customers already had food and drink and we hadn't even been asked to order yet. We had been seated with another couple and the gentleman had enough and went to talk to he manager. About 5 mins into Chris Titus vas set, the waiter came back and finally asked to take our order but the woman we were sitting with told him to keep walkin, as we had it taken care of and no longer wanted him to wait us. He replied that he would still be out server so it didn't matter. Her husband came back and heard the comment and went right back to he manager to make sure he was indeed not our server anymore and another gentleman came by to take our order about 15 mins into C.T's. set. Overall it was an hour after we were seated before we even got water and most others had finished their food and were on their 2nd or 3rd drink already. Service was good with the new guy. As expected, drinks were Hella expensive and food was mediocre at best, but the show was great and that's what I went for. Chris Titus A+, Improv, C. Would be a D but they did give me that front row seat and the 2nd server did a good job. Thanks to the couple who shared a table with us. I don't know the husband's name but he looked like...
Read moreThe Goods: The beautiful fun, fancy and engaging night came to a great finale when I made birthday plans for my fiance to come to the comedy show featuring Bill Bellamy. Let me start by saying a disclaimer:
DO NOT BUY TICKETS FROM A 3RD PARTY PROMOTER... I repeat DO NOT BUY TIX FROM A 3RD PARTY PROMOTER.
I found out about the show from a 3rd party website. Bout 2 general admission tix for $239.00 or so.. her best friend decided to join us. I went on the site to see about a 3rd tix.. it was only $30 with VIP being $80 and meet the comics for $90 .. I was highly upset with myself. No refunds no exchanges. Disclaimer done.
The place was bigger than I expected and while the seating reminded me of speed dating set up (2 person face to face with other seats next to it). The stage was close enough to see and all 3 comedians gave you worth you money. The wait staff were more than friendly and the technology was not needed in my opinion (virtual Scanned Menus) The valet was decently priced and the show was a great length of time. It is first come first serve so ppl who came after us of course got seated farther back or farther straight east or west of the stage.
The Bad: The VIP booths are cute and I can see the appeal but they are strategically placed as barriers in between tables. The general admission seats are close together to where you pretty much found a new friend or an uncomfortable stranger. The food menu was not as large as I hoped it would be and the Pretzqls while good were bot as plentiful as I hoped they would. Looks like they came out the box with hardly no salt on it and thr cheese looked like partially melted Velveeta. The Nachos were great tho. More toppings than nachos. The drinks were great and the bill was exactly what I expected after serial appetizers drinks. While our server was on point with checking in on us. I can see why they have electricity assistance as the night picks up. The servers get busy trying to give everybody that...
