We were excited that Courtyard was reopened after a fire. We hoped to have a great dinner experience, but sadly we were disappointed. We went to get a light dinner. The hostess seated us in a very dirty booth. We asked for a towel to wipe the food out of the seats. Nobody seemed to understand what the necessity of having a clean place to sit meant. Finally, a busser reluctantly wiped the seats for us. We made a simple order. Toasted white bread with cold Tuna Salad and a slice of Swiss on top, not a Tuna Melt! A bowl of Vegetable Beef soup and 2 Iced Teas. The sandwich came out on a "croissant" along with the bowl of soup. Ok, fine. We then asked for some white bread Toast to put the Tuna on. The waitress sharply took the entire plate back to the kitchen, instead of just bringing white toast, so we could just go on and eat our dinner. However, the plate returned with cold untoasted thick white bread. Really?!! How hard is it to get toasted white bread? Geez! By this time, we were kinda upset that they tossed out the perfectly good croissant for no reason and replaced it with another wrong thing. Wasteful! We would have paid for the toast to be added at this point.
The server seemed completely checked out from reality. What gives?
I hate to know what would happen with a complicated order.
I normally wouldn't complain, except this has happened so many times to us at Courtyard that we actually prepped the server that we wanted a white bread toast with cold tuna and cold piece of Swiss. Much easier to make than any sandwich on the menu. It has become a "sticking point" for us, as we mostly order the same thing when we go there. Why is white toast so hard?
Does Courtyard not have the ability to toast bread?

Read moreI don't know how I haven't reviewed Courtyard until now! I have been a regular patron for almost 10 years. I used to work near here so I got lunch about 3-4x a week. I love that their food is scratch made and we'll prepared and seasoned. My favorite is the Mulligatawny Soup and of course the bread. I've never had a meal I didn't enjoy here. The 2x baked potato is luscious, savory and tender. The salads are crisp and fresh. The salad dressings are scratch made and delicious. I appreciate that you can choose the bread for your sandwich. The chicken pesto on croissant is my fave. Their sorbets are refreshing and their desserts are unique and delicious as well. I like the batter on the wings and the potato skins (both varieties) are amazing. Their fish dishes are expertly prepared and nicely seasoned. I'm also love that they have daily soup, muffin and entree specials. The only thing I didn't like was the chili. Be aware that it is not with beans. Joe at carryout is everything. Cool dude. The staff are...
Read moreAlthough my husband and I usually enjoy dining at the Courtyard Cafe, today was a complete letdown. Despite a short wait to be seated, given how busy they are, the service was abysmal. It took an eternity for my husband to get his beer, and our meals were delayed as well—a simple salad and sandwich shouldn't have taken so long. They forgot the fries, but got it a bit later. When our food finally arrived, my salad was crammed onto such a small plate, clearly not large enough to accommodate it. I tried to catch our waitresses attention to ask her to bring me another plate, but it never happened. Even when we were ready to pay, our waitress never came; until I had to get up and take care of it myself. To top it off, they didn't even have enough change to break my $100 bill, and it was our waitress who finally came to handle the payment. Overall, the service tonight was incredibly disappointing, despite the...
