Burger Fresh — Restaurant in Brecksville

Let me start off by saying this is the first time I’ve written a review but felt it was necessary because this place has so much potential. The burgers are excellent and I love how you can add whatever toppings you like and customize your order. However, the service is atrocious. I’ve come here a handful of times expecting different results figuring the staff just had a bad day but the attitude and atmosphere never changed. Every time I’ve walked in I have never been greeted, and it appears like the staff is upset that I actually came in. I walk up to the counter and stare at the staff and no one says anything and I have to start the conversation and ask if they are ready to take my order and they just respond with “yea, what do you want” or sometimes I don’t even get that just a nod yes. Today specifically 10/11/17 at 5:30pm was especially awful. I brought my friend in and it was his first time coming to this restaurant. Obviously never being here he was not aware of the options and when he asked about the menu she was not enthusiastic and sounded like it was a hassle explaining how to order and the options available. After leaving the restaurant my friend asked me why we went here instead of five guys or another burger spot with better service and he said he would not recommend this place to anyone due to this experience. So I usually do not write a review unless I have a really positive experience or a really negative experience. Now I have celiac so my bun has to be gluten free and I’ve tried every burger place. I have to say the first time I went to Burger Fresh was 2 years ago and I was disappointed. My bun crumbled because they refused to toast it due to contamination. It’s wasnt so bad to complain I just never went back. So the kids wanted to grab something and go to the park and have a picnic. They wanted burgers from McDonald’s, and I refuse to let them eat that so I said let’s go try Burger Fresh, maybe they stepped up their game since last time. When we arrived there was only one person ahead of us so our food cooked pretty quickly. There was a rush right behind us and it filled up quickly in there. This time they had a special grill for my bun too. My burger was amazing. My new favorite especially since it’s easy to grab and go. I’m glad I gave them a second chance, but I don’t trust them yet. I've really tried to like Burger Fresh. In theory, the food is pretty good, the employees are friendly etc., however, I've noticed in the handful of times I've been to the Brecksville location, my stomach has felt "off" the next day. Usually there's enough time between visits that I convince myself it will be fine the next time. However, yesterday was the worst reaction yet. My boyfriend and I stopped in for two burgers and fries Saturday evening. Everything was fine until Sunday afternoon and all of a sudden, we were both feeling sick for several hours. And we had not eaten anything else that would have caused such a terrible reaction. Not sure if it was food poisoning exactly, but it was enough for us to say we're never going there again. I read in other reviews that the patties are frozen, not fresh as you would expect, not sure if that's true as I do not watch super closely, but if that's the case, burger "fresh" is a lie and might leave you feeling...
