Another trip out to IL so another place to check off for Italian beef. I went with a friend so I was able to split a few items. We had a Beef & Sausage Combo (dipped) an order of fries with cheese, and a Maxwell Street Polish. Service is pretty quick. We had our food fast and dove in. Starting with the Maxwell, it’s a great sausage with some snap. The sport peppers give the acidic bite balanced by sweet onions. I tried stuffing some fries on as well. The Beef & Sausage Combo was good, but that’s a tough one to eat when dipped. You’re not putting it down. 🤣 I probably could have gone with a fork and knife. The beef itself is lightly seasoned, so the addition of the sausage boosts the flavor.

The best place to get an authentic Italian beef sandwich! There is no comparison, for it is way better than Portillos, hands down. The sandwich is dipped into a delicious broth before it is wrapped and handed to you or you can ask for the sandwich dry and get the broth on the side for your own dipping pleasure. When you open the wrapper, you begin to drool and can smell the delicousness of the sandwich. The first bite is heavenly. You can add hot or sweet peppers (hot is the way to go) or go without. For sure we will be back, as this is another must stop when we are in the area. Highly recommend!

This is a satellite store from the original located on Taylor Street, which I still need to visit. Its been at least a few decades since I have tried an Al’s italian beef but its as good as I remember it. More peppery than the many I have tried over the years such as Johnnie’s and Mr Beef. Their giardeneria gives a good amount of heat, which others add just a bit of spice but not like this heat. Ill definitely visit the original but I presume it will be identical to the superior flavor in this South Suburban location.

Management was extremely rude and unprofessional. I've been ordering from here for at least the last 3 years. I requested a polish with everything on the side to keep the bread from getting soggy. The management told me putting onions and relish on the side slows the line down. He also over spoke me and didn't get the initial order correct. When I called to complain about missing food he still insisted on talking about onions and relish on the side verses him not listening and getting the order correct. I am disappointed in the lack of professionalism and accountability. He the put all of the toppings in the same exact box with no separation so honestly how long did it really take? It was the same amount that would have been placed on the polish initially. He didn't separate each topping which I'm ok with. But let's not act as if this is why things weren't correct in the order. It wasn't a tedious task it seemed like we were having a terrible day and wanted to make the customers uncomfortable. Merry...

Very irregular service. If you go here often you don't know if your going to get a beef with a normal/average amount or a sliver of meat. I have gone here and received beefs with very..... VERY little meat. (Less than an average highlighter worth of thickness throughout). This is unacceptable to any beef lover. After bringing up this issue to staff multiple times I was told I could get extra beef lmao. Quality control= zero. I was never offered any type of correction or compensation. It's sad because they do have good ingredients but I will no longer pay for an over priced lacking sandwich. I will now go to buona, portilos or pops down the street! Buona is delicious and doesn't rip you off. Pops has less quality product but at least the won't rip you off. Portilos is a classic. Sad because I really enjoyed the sandwiches I got that were how they were supposed to be but I cannot back a business that cuts corners with customers to try and get an extra buck....... Someone really should...

We want the day after Thanksgiving. We tried to call first, but they didn't answer the phone. We decided to take a chance and they were open. The guy that seemed to be in charge said that the were crazy busy, which was surprising as there was only one other person there. The phone rand while we were there and he didn't answer then either. As it was going to be at least 30 minutes before we ate, we wanted to dip them at home. They charged us a lot more for that, esp. since they didn't give more juice than we would have had if they were dipped there. It felt like they didn't want any business, and didn't care if we were there or not. The guy in charge was simply rude. I won't be back. For what we paid, there were other and, in my opinion, far better options that do appreciate...
