This is Brentwood’s Applebee’s. Long wait despite calling ahead and then not being super busy, though there were some big parties. Long wait for drinks at the bar as there was only 1 bar tender despite it being the weekend before New Year’s in Nashville. Once seated we let the waiter know we had to be out in an hour and fifteen due to other reservations. He said he could make it happen. The table was crazy dark. Needed flashlights to see the menu. We ordered drinks and dinners. Table of 8. No special orders other than one burger to have “no onions, no tomatoes.” The food came out Lightening fast. The orders were all hot, fresh and correct except there were “onions” on the burger. The ribs and chicken combo were tender oven baked ribs with a splash of bottled bbq sauce and a grilled chicken breast with bottled bourbon bbq sauce. As fine as Applebees. The ribeye sandwich was the grizzliest piece of ribeye ever ribeyed. It was cooked fine and the French fries were good. The bourbon salmon may be the best item on the menu. The bbq sandwich is more than adequate and served on toast. The chicken tendies were acceptable but under seasoned as compared to Cains! While ordering, ordered cocktails in addition to soft drinks. The food was out before the bar drinks. Service was excellent and exceeded expectations given the wait and circumstances. Will return, but not when you have after dinner obligations. A slow, relaxed attitude will Make this a solid 4 star experience.

Just got to Nashville area and my daughter and family took us here for dinner. Great start to our visit. Lodge type setting is carried through out. Menu was extensive. I started with a bowl of chili. Now I have eaten a lot of chili and I have to say this was all right, but not exceptional. My companion and I shared an order of fish tacos -- now those were outstanding. Ours were grilled fish. My daughter had hers blackened. I had a taste of hers. Both had a substantial amount of fish topped with a savory slaw with a little bit of a kick -- not overpowering, but just enough so you knew it was there. My son-in-law had the blackened salmon salad -- huge piece of salmon -- he didn't offer me I bite -- darn!! It looked very appealing.

This is a great place. Totally different than what you would expect in Nashville log cabin feel. Great place to go in cold weather as it feels like a ski lodge. Food's pretty good, decent happy hour reasonable price drinks, the staff is awesome. Friendly and there's clearly a regular group that attends here. If you're looking for something different to do. I love this place. I know what I like about it most is everything's pretty reasonable as you know things are getting kind of expensive out there but the sportsman grill seems to keep that in control. Good place for families business meetings happy hour et cetera. Been here forever.

This has long been one of my favorite places to go in Franklin. The atmosphere is completely unique to anywhere in Tennessee, recreating a Northern hunting lodge with timber framing like something out of Yellowstone or Yosemite or Glacier National Parks-- including columns carved from tree trunks (Douglas Firs?) with diameters greater than... John Goodman's waistline?

The food is generally very good and freshly-prepared, with a wide variety on the menu. Specials often include a Field & Stream dish: fresh quail and trout fixed to order. Excellent. Steaks are good, though order down: if you like it cooked medium, order medium rare, etc. I love the barbeque on cornbread, served with fresh, warm jalepeno cornbread pancakes and the best restaurant fries in town-- though the steak fries at Twin Peaks of all places are pretty good too.

Which brings me to the negatives: the service. If you took the service at Twin Peaks, which is friendly and attentive (not to mention scenic), and transposed it to Sportsman's, you'd really have something amazing. As it is, the service, especially at the bar, really seems to have dropped off in the last couple of years. Not that it's all bad. I usually sit at the bar, and while I've had good service one night from one bartender (a guy), on two other nights I've been waited on by bartender (a gal) who was inattentive, slow to respond, and more intent on sitting (!) and eating her own meal in front of me and talking to her friends parked at one end of the bar than she was with serving. I was only one of three patrons one night, and the only patron another. Any slower or indifferent, and I don't see how she could handle more than 4 people at the bar at any one time.

The only other negative is that some of the furniture, like bar stools, is getting a bit broken-down. The bar stools are unique, so they may be hard to replace, but they could probably find someone with the skill to repair them correctly. All-in-all, the place could use a good cleaning and makeover to refresh everything, upgrade the service, etc. I'd hate to see this iconic and uniquely-themed restaurant sink out of business, but without a bit of investment I don't see it lasting with all the other competition in the area. The upside to its current state is that even on a Friday night it's not very crowded and you can get...

Great Dining Experience at Sportsman's Grille I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sportsman's Grill in Franklin, Tennessee, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The restaurant has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, making it the perfect spot for a casual meal or a special occasion.

The menu at Sportsman's Grill offers a variety of delicious options to satisfy any palate. Whether you're in the mood for classic American fare like burgers and sandwiches or craving something a bit more upscale, you'll find it here. Their selection of appetizers is a great way to start your meal, and I highly recommend trying the loaded nachos – they're a crowd-pleaser!

The staff at Sportsman's Grill was attentive and friendly, making sure our dining experience was top-notch. They were knowledgeable about the menu and happy to offer recommendations.

I also appreciated the extensive drink menu, which includes a great selection of craft beers and cocktails. It's a great place to catch a game with friends or simply unwind after a long day.

In summary, Sportsman's Grill in Franklin, Tennessee, is a must-visit for anyone looking for delicious food, a welcoming atmosphere, and excellent service. I can't wait to return and try more items from their menu.
