Cana Bar & Lounge — Restaurant in Bridgeport

Had a strange experience at this place a few days ago. I walked in with my friend and we were seated by the woman who was our server and bartender. From the moment we walked in she only addressed my friend and never even made eye contact with me once. My friend even had to order my drink for me. We decided after one drink that the server’s behavior was too nasty and we decided to leave. We went to the bar and closed out our tab and my friend was given the bill, even though we were splitting it. It was clear to both my friend and I that our server only wanted to address my friend and not me because my friend is white. Needless to say, neither of us will ever go to this place again. Racism is alive and well...

Went for a girls' night out w/ my sister...vibe was chat, good food, & good drinks. Cana definitely delivered. The food was delicious 😋 We had a sampler platter app, salad to share, & two entrees. Everything was delicious & immersed in the Brazilian culture. Our bartender/servers Ailine, Amanda, & Jade were the sweetest & funny...they made sure we were well taken care of! Good food can only be elevated by great service ❤️ I truly enjoy finding local gems in my hometown of Bridgeport...Cana fits the bill. All was further enhanced by R&B flowing through the speakers. This is a nice restaurant/bar/lounge on Main Street on the North End side. Very welcoming and the food was delicious! We had the trio appetizer and it was super tasty! We had the steak tips with yucca which was my favorite! For drinks, we took advantage of their happy hour and had a Cana mango caipirinha, this was by far the best I’ve have so far. The wait time was a bit longer than expected but I think it was because the food is made from scratch which is a plus! The waiter was super kind and patient as we did not know what to order.
