So me and my sister try to go out and pratonize local eateries. we heard rumor that Ralph and Rich's was closing, so figured let's go before they shut the doors. By later found it was just a rumor. Anyway, by the name, by the way its owned that corner for so many years...I was really expecting an authentic meal. Let's start with parking. We went on a Sunday night. I parked right on Ceasars battalia, adjacent to restaurant. There's also a parking lot, but the street was clear. They close at 8 and I got there around 630, but my sister was infamously late, coming in at 7. The host sat us in a booth by the window. There was a bar, and a dining area in the back. Three place had an old relic feeling to it. I personally like that. There was a specials menu and a regular menu. We were served bread and butter. The bread was not warm though, which I was hoping. But I was so hungry I still tore it up. I ordered a two roads beer in a glass. My sister got a strawberry/lemon drop martini. She said it was very strong, but she's a lightweight. The water was tap water, but they do offer bottle as well. I don't have a problem with tap, so I was good. Our server was quick, attentive.. maybe bc it was close to closing time! But no, seriously, he was a good sport! He was very patient with us. My sis is vision impaired so it took time for me to read her the menu. We started with beef tips and spiedina Romana. I nearly ate that while plate of cheese! It was so good... my sis said her beef tips were spicy and flavorful. For entree, I had the broiled salmon with risotto Primavera...the salmon was perfectly cooked, the risotto was more like a pilaf to me.. something I could make at home, nothing special. It came with a strip of spicy, candied bacon, which I gave to my sister she said it was really good. My sister had ziti aribbiata. Besides the olive which she didn't realize was part of the dish - which I happily ate- she enjoyed it. We were happy with it for, we left full. But both felt we didn't NEED to go back... like it was good, but not great. That being said, I the ambiance was lovely, cozy, private. I could see going here to sit at the bar for a drink, even alone. I appreciate an atmosphere like that. I can't imagine what it's like on weekends that the arena has a show. But on a nice quiet Sunday, I might wander over there.

This was the 1st time l ever went to this Restaurant, and l was dining alone after attending a Convention in the area. There were so many Menu choices. . . that all sounded so delicious! I couldn't help thinking, "If the food is good, here (and it was), I'm definitely going to have to come back and eat here, again! . . . And bring friends!!" I settled on ordering a Garden Salad, and the Cavatelli Primavera (since Cavatelli & Broccoli has been one of my favorites for a long time). The portions were generous, and well-presented. I loved the Salad! And even though the Cavatelli was not the BEST I've ever tasted. . . after adding more Parmesan and a scattering of hot pepper flakes to it, it was still very good. 😙👌 For Dessert, l ordered the Rice Pudding. It was topped with a generous mound of tasty whipped cream and a slice of strawberry (which l thought was different, and made a nice finishing touch).🍓 Again, it wasn't the best Rice Pudding l've ever had, but was also still very good. I look forward to eating here, again, and trying some of the other tempting choices on their Menu. And bringing friends next time!🦋

Food was great, bathrooms clean, and staff friendly. We will have my husband's graduation party here in May (2020) when he becomes a Physician Assistant. Previously I emailed the business regarding my interest and received an email back from the chef saying to call in, but when I called in they said they couldn't help me and to call back another day. I was about to write off the entire place, but we were in the area purchasing a larger turtle tank when we decided to come in for lunch. The dining area was well kept, but the walls could use a quick wipe. At the end of the meal we asked our server if we could speak to someone regarding event planning. Thankfully we met Rich, described our party numbers and we got put in the books. Honestly would've written the place off if we hadn't met Rich - he was great, straightforward, and friendly. I'll update this review after the party.

The kind of Italian restaurant that makes you feel like you're eating in someone's home. The food is excellent, the portions are generous, and the service is professional. Sat in downtown Bridgeport, right across the street from the Barnum museum, this is a real find. We had the pasta fagioli soup, the Gorgonzola salad, and then chicken parm and veal parm. I had an order of spaghetti with garlic and oil sauce as well as a side of vegetables. It was probably a little too much food but it was all very good. Something as simple as a garlic and olive oil sauce sounds easy, but it's the kind of thing they're only good restaurants get right. And they knocked this one out of the park. For dessert we share there rice pudding, which tasted just like my grandmother used to make. Not that she was Italian, but it was really good.

I had the Prime Rib medium rare and it was cooked properly as I asked, and I asked for the juice on the side instead of ontop which added even more flavor to it. One of the few places in town that has a Prime Rib is here. The meal came with some really nice mixture of vegetables, mashed sweet potatoes, which I really liked, and the portions were big. Bread was good and so was the special flavored butter. Husband had the Cavatelli in red sauce which was very good. The food could've been a little hotter, but it is always good food that they serve. Next time I will try one of their real Italian dishes that they are famous for. They have a great selection to choose from and an extensive menu. Highly recommended and all the meals are delicious here.

We needed a place to eat near the Hartford Healthcare Amphitheater in Bridgeport, Ct and by luck we got reservations at Ralph ‘n’ Rich’s which is one of the finest Italian Restaurants that I have ever eaten at. This restaurant is a 5 minute walk to the Amphitheater where we were planning to see Deep Purple and Yes. The staff was outstanding and catered to our every need. They were sensitive to our schedule and all the drinks and courses came out perfectly timed. The food was delicious with a special acknowledgment to the stuffed mushrooms, that were outstanding. We enjoyed a complementary bread service and our entrees that consisted of Chicken Marsala, Veal Parm and Pasta and Meatballs were all superb. We all gave this restaurant 5 stars.
