Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Bridgewater Township

The one star is for the very few staff working there that actually care about their job and the guests. When I walked in with my husband a few days ago the hostess was very nice when she greeted me. Then it was mainly downhill from there. Another hostess went to seat us and when we kindly asked not to be next to the table with children running wild she responded "I don't have anything else right now, you'll just have to wait." There were maybe 4 tables seated in the restaurant. So we waited about 15 minutes and were finally sat at another table. Our server was prompt and friendly. We put our order in and the appetizer (boneless wings) took about 15 minutes to come out...cold..they were cold and looked like they had been sitting for a while.(still only 4 tables in the restaurant). Then we ordered salads and both of the salads were wrong. When we sent them back they came back quickly with "new" ones. They clearly just took the wrong ingredients off of the first salads. The now soggy and still off tasting salad was unappetizing at that point. We figured let's try to give one more chance and get dessert. We got a rock hard cookie sundae. The cookie was inedible and the ice cream was like soup when it got to the table. A manager never came over to ask us if the food was okay. I live in bound brook which make sense for me to go to the Bridgewater location, however from last night experience never again! I rather drive 25 mins to the Hillsborough location instead. I got there at 9:10 pm i order everything at once, my waitress took 20 mins to take my drinks, then i had order 3 appetizers which she only took on to our table and then we had to wait another 15 mins for other two. We then waited another 30 mins for our food which was cold, why because my waitress was so busy talking that she forgot about our order so two other waiters took our food. Keep in mind in this hour and half she only came twice to our table to ask how we were ( the restaurant was not even busy) her section had only two tables so I don’t understand why she sucked. I had heard about this happinning to other friends but I had never ocurred to me. I asked to talk with the manager which didn’t even happen because she didn’t tell him. I left all my food and went to McDonald’s next door instead and paid 25 dollars for food that was giving to me quick and warm(i know there faster but usually restaurants have to be it as well, especially if the restaurant is not that busyi payed $120 for the worst...

Horrible experience. We were in town for work and wanted to eat something decent,.. Honestly we were so hungry that anything would of been amazing. We had no silverware but were sitting next to the hostess booth and asked her if we could get some silverware. At the same time someone walked in and she sat them down. I figured she would grab the silverware after that but she didn't. About 5 minutes later, she walked by and I gently reminded her that we still needed silverware,.. She looked imbarassed as if she had forgotten which is fine, but then jumped on the highest horse we've ever seen and started saying that this wasn't really her job because she wasn't a server, she was a "hostess". A few minutes later, the server showed up and asked us if we needed anything which makes me think that she did not even relay the message to the server.
