Gourmet Garden — Restaurant in Brighton

Unfortunately we typed up a long and detailed review but it was deleted. Was seated for over 15 minutes before someone came to get us drinks (there were empty water glasses on our table and a tea pot with no tea glasses). It would have been longer had I not finally be able to flag someone down. When I flagged someone down our water's were quickly filled (no tea mugs were ever brought) and our appetizer and meal orders were promptly taken...but that is as good as it got. After ordering we waited over 20 minutes to get our simple appetizers. After we finished our appetizers we waited over 50 minutes for our meals. At no time during our wait did any one ask if they could get us anything else and at no point in time did anyone apologize that the food was taking so long or that no one had helped us when we were initially seated. In fact it appeared that the staff was avoiding our table and avoiding making eye contact with our table. If you value your time, and think that you should have nice and non-inept staff...do not...

I recently dined at Gourmet Garden Chinese Restaurant, and it was an exceptional experience! From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, with beautiful decor that set the perfect mood. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that every need was met with a smile.

The menu offered a wide variety of authentic Chinese dishes, each bursting with flavor. I particularly enjoyed the General Tso's Chicken and the Dim Sum platter – both were cooked to perfection. The ingredients were fresh, and the presentation was impeccable.

What really stood out was the attention to detail and the quality of the food. It's clear that the chefs take great pride in their work. Okay.. I am impressed. My mom's in town from Alabama where she doesn't get the chance for Chinese food and wanted to find a place that has pressed duck. I spent my lunch at work on the hunt, with no luck. I called Gourmet Garden to ask if they might have their house special duck. They did not.. BUT the woman that took my call was so nice and welcoming we decided to try the place out! Later we called an order of chicken with garlic sauce, dragon and pheonix and house special lo main... white rice and fried. EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING. We don't live in Brighton, but better believe we can't wait to try more of what the menu has to offer. And to think a simple phone call with that amazing person brought in our business... and yes she was just as sweet in person. Thank you Gourmet Garden for the awesome dinner. Service is...
