-Not a place we would come back to-

The guacamole is green sour cream masquerading as guac (see picture). Disgusting. I’m glad we had my seven-year-old son because he didn’t care and he ate it. The adults took one bite and decided “hard no.”

An average sized margarita is $12.50! Are you kidding me? You give me well tequila and charge me $12.50 for a house margarita on the rocks?? It wasn’t even a large one! This will definitely make us never come back here ever again. I had to look at the menu to confirm the price just to make sure it wasn’t a mistake. It’s true, $12.50 for a house margarita. LMAO!

Friday evening dinner time. Seated immediately. The restaurant was maybe half full. The food here is just average or slightly below average Mexican food for the Denver area. Most things are overly salted and the ingredients quality is maybe slightly below average (Sour cream with green food coloring sold as guacamole) YUK.

They do however, put your food on a GIANT plate and spread it very thin so it looks like you’re getting this huge meal. Lol. I think it’s still the same portions you get most other places, not sure. The prices are, I guess in line with what is normal these days, except for the ridiculously over priced margaritas.

I would describe the food as; Just about like any other slightly below average Mexican restaurant in Denver (of which there are thousands).

Pros: Easy parking lot with plenty of spaces. Greeted and seated right away. Decent sized menu. Reasonably priced kids menu.

Cons: -Sour cream with green food coloring sold as guacamole? YUK.

-You can smell the bathrooms if you sit anywhere within a 20’ proximity. Gross.

-Did I mention that they have sour cream with green food coloring sold as guacamole? YUK

Just another write off: Mexican food hell in food hell Denver, as usual. I know not to expect anything different when we are in Denver, but we keep on tryin. Lol. I’m beginning to think that the ingredient quality in the center of the United States is just not as good as it is in the coastal cities. Maybe the food all gets rotten by the time it gets to Colorado???...

The lady that sat us was our server and immediately asked what we wanted to drink, barely got into the booth let alone enough time to look over drinks. Ordered waters for the time, she came back right away and asked if we knew what we wanted to order. Told her we needed a few minutes since they have at least 5 pages on their menu. She came back again less than a minute later wanting to know if we were ready. I finally just said yes and picked something. After that we didn’t see her until our food came out. We needed more waters and chips and salsa. She brought our food out and we had no silverware. Waited at least 5 minutes on the silverware. For the price of the food and drinks plus service we will never come back. The food is so bland. Ordered the asada tacos and the tortillas tasted like they weren’t cooked all the way. The green chili on the burritos had no flavor at all and for 3 people our bill was over $100! Sat down at 5:45 and didn’t leave until 7:30. We had to wait over 20 minutes to find her to get our bill so we...

In all honesty the food was very good and compliments to the chef but the audacity of our server was horrible. Right off the bat we had a large group and was immediately given attitude about the party and when we had asked about paying she said it would all have to be on one ticket but we could at the end split it on what we had gotten. Throughout the visit of the restaurant we had to wait an hour before she even took out order after we had told her several times that we were ready. The “owner” was also our server but she was very rude. Our server “Laura” does not know how to handle large parties or how to be accommodating, I have worked in customer service for a long time so I get a large party is hard to handle and difficult to split tickets but the attitude that was given the entire night was extremely extremely disrespectful. Would recommend for food but customer service from the owner Laura is...

Upon entering I was not greeted by the employees decorating the Christmas tree just inside the front door. However, I was seated quickly presented with complementary chips with red salsa and bean dip. I ordered the smothered beef burrito, which did have some beans inside as well, and an a la carte carnitas taco. They were not busy and the food came out less than 10 minutes after ordering. The burrito was huge and smothered in a delicious, medium/mild green chili that had a unique flavor. The tacos had a generous portion of tender, well seasoned carnitas with cilantro onion and lime on the side. Two tacos would have been sufficient for my dinner but I'm glad to have half of a delicious burrito in a to go box for later.

Absolutely a great value for huge potions and a delicious taste! Start with fresh chips, bean dip and tangy salsa. The menu indicates 2 baskets are included. La Playa, salad presentation with chicken is big enough for 2. Pecans, avocado and orange slices are like eating the rainbow. The Mexican hamburger inside a flour tortilla, smothered in green chili served with beans and rice is a tasty option. Carne asada is a delightful palate pleaser. Combo 2 included a burrito, chile relleno smothered with green chile and served with beans and rice! With so many choices for Mexican food in the Brighton area, Lupita’s is a must try!
