Came on Mother's day and were expecting a wait, but what we endured was horrifying. When we first arrived, we were told 15-20 min wait. It ended up being 40 min wait. We had plenty of time before being seated to look over their menu, and so were able to submit our food order with our drink order (right when we sat down). It took 45 min for the food to get to our table. All of this had taken so long my 22 month old son was coming up to his nap, which we thought we planned for appropriately, but the wait time was horrendous. My husband had to take him to the car, where he fell asleep before the food came out. It left my husband and I no choice but to take turns quickly eating our food so the other could finally eat what they ordered. Just horrible.
The staff that cleared the tables looked gloomy, everyone on the restaurant cheered when they finally received their food, that's how slow things were. Our waitress was so kind, but losing her voice. Why didn't the restaurant have someone fill in for the poor woman? On that note, it was clear they were woefully understaffed and generally need more workers due to the excessive wait times.
Food was OK. The best thing was the cinnamon roll.
Would not recommend on weekends or busy days. Go somewhere that is fully staffed and can handle a big...
Read moreWe wanted to take some friends out to breakfast that live near Brighton so we looked at the reviews and found Main Street Cafe. When we suggest this cafe, they were familiar with it and had positive comments to share from their previous visits.
I ordered my favorite classic-style breakfast of hashbrowns, bacon, and eggs with a stack of pancakes. One of the keys to this classic breakfast is the cook on the hashbrowns and they do it right here. The hashbrowns were seasoned well and the edges were crispy. The bacon was a nice thickness and they cook it until it is melt in your mouth delicious, no limp fatty bacon here. But let's talk about the pancakes, they were light and fluffy. Cooked just right to soak up the syrup and make for a real treat. This is comfort food to me and let's just say I really enjoyed it.
The wait staff was on their game. They were efficient and quick in their service. We came between the breakfast and lunch crowds so they were gracious and let us visit with our friends for a while at the table.
The Main Street Cafe is a classic hometown cafe, making great food and being the place people want to hang out and catch up...
Read moreWe just moved to the area and this place was recommended to us. I was super excited because I love breakfast and love to eat out. We walked in and stood there for about 5 minutes before we realized the sign that said seat yourself, so we did. Right after we sat, another couple walked in and sat themselves. Immediately the waitress brought water, silverware, and menus to them... no one even looked our way. We thought, "Oh, it's just an oversight". We proceded to sit there for 15 minutes while we watched 12 more people come in, get their menus, drinks, and silverware. During this time we received one comment, from a waitress, "We'll be right with you." That was it... 5 minutes later my husband went up to get his own menu and was told they were out. Shortly after that we saw food served to the 1st couple that walked in after us and we walked out. It seems like a place that has a lot of regulars... maybe we were treated this way because we are not a regular and they don't want or need anymore business. I don't think I've ever been treated like this before. Very disappointing. Hopefully they get this figured out, but I wouldn't recommend this...
