Average to smaller portions for the price. That’s a stark contrast to Main St. Café next-door which is I think, owned by the same people. Main Street Cafés’ portions are bigger than average whereas this place is slightly out of line “It’s cuz ahh Coviiid!!!” Uh huh….
Another thing that will keep us away from here the atmosphere. It is so loud and uninviting inside that it hurts your ears to be in there. The tables are spread far apart and there’s really nothing in there to suck up the sound. It just echoes. It is a very loud, harsh, cold, uninviting atmosphere with uncomfortable chairs.
When we were originally approached by our waitress, she asked us about drink orders and asked if we wanted any appetizers. We declined the appetizers. She said “Do you guys want chips and salsa?” We thought it was free because of the way she presented it. When we received our bill, we were charged $3 for chips and salsa. That is so tacky. That alone will make me not ever come back to this place again in my life ever. Let alone the fact that I don’t think I’ve ever paid for chips and salsa at a restaurant in my entire life ever, ever,, EVER!
Onto the food: The smothered veggie breakfast burrito for $9 was so-so. Average price, but I’m not sure if the green chili came out of a jar or what, but it just lacked any real flavor. The burrito was mostly hash browns inside also. Not something I would order again.
The Tacos plate was ordered with Al Pastor, and Carne Asada (2 of each). At $15 this was priced I guess average or maybe slightly above average. My wife said the tacos were decent but not anything she would order again. She stated that the meat didn’t taste spicy at all, it was kind of bland.
The kids had no complaints about their meals. At $7, these are I guess, on average with this quality of kids meals at local restaurants. We would order the kids meals again if we ever came back here (unlikely).
Pros: They are open when Main St. Café is not. It is clean. Parking is easy.
Cons: -Being in this restaurant makes your ears bleed because of the noise level. -It has a very uninviting and cold atmosphere due to the sparsity of tables and the loud, blank interior. -The waitress offering us chips and salsa as if they were free, and then surprising me with a $3 charge on my bill at the end of the...
Read moreI recently had a large event at the Grill, and I reserved the outdoor covered patio, yard, and beer garden tent. I came in to pick up drink tickets 2 days before the event to find that the tent had been ripped down by the wind 2 weeks prior,(certainly not their fault but I did not get a call to notify me of my space being impacted) but I was reassured that they would have some kind of replacement up before the event. I called the morning of the party to confirm the replacement had been hung, and they said it would be done before the party….i arrived to find the space in the same condition with no replacement. I was told they had something up but 10mins prior the wind again ripped it down (the wind was 3mph that day so I know this was not the truth and nothing had been hung). It started to rain during my event so about half the space was not usable. There was zero attempt to make this right from the management team.
The food here is normally awesome but the taco plates for the party were dry and tasteless and serving started 30mins late. They didn’t have anyone coming around to collect plates and the one dirty dish bin was on the floor at the start of the food line & always full! The bar also ran out of glasses because they were not keeping up with my party (and when I booked I was assured this would not happen).
When I booked the event I was told for each drink ticket would get you a beer, wine, or well drink. When I came to pick up the tickets that changed to it being 2 tickets for a cocktail but still 1 for 1 on beer and wine….well that changed AGAIN on the day of and now wine was also 2 tickets. None of this was communicated to me in advance nor any attempt to make this right in any other way.
I am beyond disappointed with how my party was treated and I hope anyone else thinking of booking an event here considers my experience and enters with...
Read moreI walked in and was seated right away and was given a menu to decide what i was hungry for. There were 2 servers, and I was seated in a booth right by two other tables that were already enjoying their meals. The server for that area looked at me once, never said anything, and ignored me. I don't know her name, but she had long, braided almost black hair and way too much makeup on. After about 10 minutes of waiting to be acknowledged, I started feeling like I was being ignored by her. I saw her glance over at me from the far end of the bar, but not once did she talk to me or acknowledge me in any way. Finally, just as I was thinking about getting up and leaving, I saw the other server talk to the first one, and gesture in my direction. The dark-haired one pointed and said something that I couldn't hear, but I feel it was derogatory just by her body language and the expression on her face. The second server hurried over to my table, apologized for the long wait, introduced herself as Jess, and took my order. After that, everything was fine and the food was outstanding. I got the bacon cheddar burger and asked for crispy fries, with mayo on the side, and I got exactly what I asked for. It was delicious and I will go back to try other items, but I felt snubbed by the first server, completely ignored even though she KNEW I was there. It was almost like I was being discriminated against for being part of the LGBTQIA+ community. It really put a bad taste in my mouth that Jess was able to address by doing an outstanding job and being so welcoming. I feel someone needs to talk with the first server and give her some training in GOOD...
