THANK. GOD. Brighton finally got some good coffee shops besides Starbucks!!! I just randomly found this place while trying to Google something else and I was like wait wait wait, no way did Brighton really get an actual coffee shop!
After looking at the menu I just HAD to try the salty bee, and I'm glad I did! I'm a night shift worker and going to bed soon, so I had to order half caf and I think that might affect the taste a bit, IDK I've actually never had decaf coffee before. So I feel like after a few minutes I was able to taste the difference, at least in the aftertaste. But it was still dangerously good & I fear I will be spending too much money here in the near future.
At least the largest size they have is still cheaper than my extremely obnoxious customized Starbucks order! ($8.75 or so vs $13 đ) so I mean when you think about it, now I can buy twice the amount of expensive delicious coffee drinks đ Thanks!
I gotta say, Main Street/downtown Brighton has become such a yuppie-ish hipstery little mini boulder wannabe these days, haha. That's fine with me tho. So far I've tried the grill, the breakfast place, and now this place, and all of them have been PHENOMENAL. If yuppie vibes and hipsters mean we finally have real good food & coffee etc, (some cool new bars too although I don't really do that, still on the rare occasion they're nice to have) instead of being the reject city with nothing but like, pizza hut & McDonald's đ đ then I'm...
Read moreMy girlfriend loves Wolf and Honeyâit's her favorite cafĂ© in Brightonâso I was excited to finally try it with her. The place itself is beautiful, the coffee was great, and the vibe was peaceful and cozy, especially on a quiet Sunday afternoon.
Unfortunately, what completely threw it off was the customer service, specifically from a staff member named Alexia. From the moment we approached the counter, her energy felt offâthere was no greeting, no smile, no warmth. When I asked her (genuinely and politely) if she had any coffee recommendations, she responded bluntly with, âI donât drink coffee,â in a tone that felt more like a brush-off than helpful. She followed it up by pointing to the seasonal menu and saying, âThis is what people are getting,â with zero enthusiasm or effort to actually assist.
It wasnât just unhelpfulâit was uncomfortable. It felt like we were bothering her by simply asking a question. There was no attempt to make us feel welcome. Her tone was cold and dismissive, and it genuinely left a bad impression.
Honestly, if you donât like coffee or arenât willing to engage with customers about it, it really makes you wonder why youâre working in a coffee shop in the first place.
We ended up grabbing our drinks and leaving right away, which was disappointing because we were both really looking forward to enjoying the...
Read moreThis place is way bigger than I thought, so even though my maps told me it was busier than usual, it didn't feel overwhelming at all. There is not only plenty of seating, but there's a variety - from couches and soft chairs, to high top tables, to bigger tables further inside for larger groups. I will say the tables are a little uncomfortable if you plan to stay for work, but I saw people relaxing there, figuring it out!
The staff are super kind and on recommendation I tried: -Dirty Bee with almond milk (hot): 9/10 (this is a dirty chai with honey - but I was a little sad it still came in a to-go cup even when I was staying there) -SF Red Bull Italian Cream Soda with Raspberry syrup: 7/10 (I loved that you could pick any of their syrups so I'm excited to try other variations) -Strawberry Croissant: 7/10
After talking to one of the baristas, I found out they have open mic nights, they're working on putting in a bar, and they have baked goods from Nothing Batter Bakery available.
I'm a little sad they didn't really have savory options. The only one was a ham and cheese (but my body doesn't handle pork well) so I'm hopeful with the bar addition they'll add...
