Their service is great here but this review is geared more toward the food, SO PLEASE KEEP THAT IN MIND WITH MY RATING. (The issues specified below are most likely chain-wide and most likely have nothing to with this particular franchise-you'd have to confirm that with corporate.) ...The 2 for $20 lobster roll deal is some kind of joke. I understand lobster process are considerably high for this year's lobster season, but that only matters when serving Maine lobster. The pathetically decent 4-INCH-long fast food quality lobster roll served here is def made with bottom tier Canadian lobster, I'm assuming they and McDonald's order the exact same product from maybe even the same distributor....lol Don't bother if you have a broader palette, especially for seafood... Your local Stop & Shop Seafood Dept.'s is on a whole other level of BETTER but still just decent quality! And they're bigger, cheaper, honest with disclosure of species that's better than theirs, more fresh, better recipe, better handled, and on appropriate breading as opposed to whatever that inappropriate sub roll that I received mine...
Read moreWe stopped in Brockton, Massachusetts and came across D’Angelo Grilled Sandwiches at 648 Pleasant Street (Route 27). It was our first time trying this chain, and we were pleasantly surprised.
Jaime took our order at the counter and was very friendly and welcoming. My wife ordered a small Thanksgiving toasted sub and really enjoyed it—the turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and gravy were flavorful and unique. The gravy was a little thin, but the taste made up for it. I ordered a Southwestern Chicken Bowl, which had everything you’d expect in a sub roll served in a bowl. That option was a great surprise, and the flavors hit perfectly.
I also liked how they served the clam chowder first, then brought out our meals hot off the grill. The two people working the grill did a great job. The service felt personal and attentive, not what you always expect from a franchise restaurant.
As visitors from out of state, we didn’t realize D’Angelo was a Massachusetts chain, but it turned out to be a really nice dinner...
Read moreI've been eating at this D'Angelo's once a week for years last night I went in and ordered the same thing that I always order which is a large steak onion and cheese with extra cheese. But in this case I ordered the same thing and I also ordered a medium steak and cheese with lettuce tomato on it. So my friend and I I waited for about 10 minutes just to order and finally when the food was delivered to our table I opened up my sandwich and I looked and I told the cook that this is not a large this is a medium. Meanwhile I looked at my friend sandwich which was a medium and he had more steak on his then I had on mine. The cook said to the shift manager people say this all the time so they can get more free food! I found that statement to be disrespectful but they did nothing about trying to accommodate me by offering me a new sandwich or a refund. But that's okay I'm always going to love D'Angelo steak and cheeses but I just will not spend my money at this...
