12/29/2023 - I just left Bar Louies, a place I’ve been many times. I met a couple of coworkers there after work for a New Year’s Beer. Arriving first it was “seat yourself” so I took a high-top for the 3 of us and waited for my friends. There were a couple of tables marked “Reserved” near me but no sign on the table at which I sat. The waitress came over right away and asked if I wanted to order; I told her that I was waiting for 2 friends and that I would wait for them to arrive before ordering. She said that a party was coming in at 4PM and wanted to make sure that their arrival wouldn’t be a disruption or inconvenience to us. I said, “No it’ll be fine. I’ll have to leave at 4:00 or 4:30.”
At 4PM a man approached our table and told us we had to cash out and leave or move to a different table because a party was arriving and this table was reserved. I communicated my prior conversation with him and told him that we were told of the party but NEVER told we would have to forfeit the table at 4PM. I said we could move, but asked if the “house” was going to buy us a round for the inconvenience. He said he didn’t have the authority to make that decision.
A few minutes later another man came over, evidently the manager (a little bald man), and told us we would have to move or leave. I explained the prior conversation I had with the waitress and he said, I misunderstood her. I said, “no, you weren’t here during the conversation you have no idea what was said, understood, or misunderstood.” He said, “Fair enough.” And basically said cash out or move. At that point a friend of mine said, will you be buying us a round for the inconvenience of moving to another table? At this, the manager got quite terse and said he would not be doing so, and that there was no justifiable reason for him to do so.
At this point we all said, cash us out we’ll just leave, because his customer service skills were terrible.
We all work in the customer service industry and know what good customer service is, and this little bald guy needs to take a course on what it means to make good customers and retain good customers.
We have resolved to convey our experience to all of our friends, colleagues, and customers, until Bar Louies makes this situation right.
Let me reiterate, we were never told “You will need to forfeit your...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Bar Louie with a group of 10 friends, and I must say, it exceeded all expectations! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and excellent service. The ambiance was lively and making it the perfect spot for a gathering with friends.
Now, let's talk about the food! Bar Louie offers an impressive variety of dishes to satisfy every craving. Whether you're in the mood for classic comfort food or something a bit more adventurous, they've got you covered. Our group tried a bit of everything, from their mouthwatering burgers to their delicious salads, and we were blown away by the quality and flavor of each dish.
But what truly set Bar Louie apart was their drink selection. The cocktails were expertly crafted, and the beer and wine options were extensive. Whether you're a craft beer enthusiast or a cocktail connoisseur, you're sure to find something that tickles your taste buds.
What really made our experience memorable, though, was the outstanding service. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure that we had everything we needed. Despite the bustling atmosphere, our drinks were never empty, and our food arrived promptly and piping hot.
Overall, I can't recommend Bar Louie highly enough. Whether you're looking for a casual dinner with friends or a fun night out, this is the place to be. Great food, fantastic drinks, and...
Read moreEDIT: Bar Louie has really gone downhill due to cost saving measures. If "calamari" doesn't have tentacles and has weird texture, I wonder if it's genuine seafood.
Also "all" martinis are half off during happy hour, but some are more than $13 and I was expected to know that? If you know someone is there for happy hour, why trick them?
You had already taken out the fruit puree out of the Star, but now there's menu tricks? I told my server I didn't know there was a change and she said it had changed 4 months ago like I should know, but I was here earlier in the summer and that wasn't the case.
Hope that extra $7 from tricking me was worth it because between my suspicion at the calamari and underhanded nature of menu changes, I don't think I'll be back. I had been coming here since 2020 due to outdoor seating, but this makes me really sad.
I had been coming here with professional contacts, family and friends, for birthdays, or to casually hang out and write when it's slow. This was my go-to place to invite people for 4 years, but it has changed. When you trick customers, you destroy the trust you built. These cost saving measures will cost money in the long run but okay. You do you.
