Perkins American Food Co. — Restaurant in Brooklyn Park

Yesterday I ordered online, when I got to the restaurant I called to let them know I was there. The phone just rang no one would answer. So I go inside and proceed to go to the counter and I was rudely stopped by some lady asking what I needed. I told her I was picking up food. She goes to check, comes back and asks if I am at the right location they don’t have a ticket for my order. I was at the right location, unfortunately. So I can hear everyone in back, where is the order for Cheyenne, no one knows. She comes back out and says they are just finishing up your order. But I know that they JUST started making it by what I heard and she takes her keys and runs out the door never to return. Another customer comes in he’s not happy, that is clear. He waits about 5 minutes before asking me if I’ve even been helped. He was back to get the food that was missing from his order that he had picked up. He even yells back to the kitchen, is there anyone even working here? The 2 waitresses who are working about 3 tables total see all these people standing up front and just look at us and keep walking away, at this point more people have come to dine in. Finally the older gentleman goes into the kitchen and asks to be helped, he’s irate at this point. The waitress did not handle the situation very well yelling back him and then proceeds to get his missing food item, a muffin. It took her a few minutes to open a bag and put the muffin in it as she was just being as rude as she possibly could be. I get it everything is stressful right now! So the cooks finally come out and discover that their front person has just left without saying anything. And now all the tables that they were serving are all standing up front wanting to pay. And everyone just keeps ignoring all the customers. Finally they start checking people out, ask me if I’ve been helped and I said I’m still waiting for my food from about 30 minutes ago. To which the guy replied I’ll check on it, and then says it’s done I just have to get it. I check it before I leave and we are missing 3 items, really 4, but I didn’t think anything of the missing cookie for the kids meal until we were home and finally eating over an hour after I placed my order. The kids meal which was French toast was not fully cooked there was raw egg one side of the toast and it was all mushy. Our server Nikki was amazing. I don't have any complaints on how she took care of us. The complaint I have was the so called shift leader that was in charge. She was wearing sweats and a Perkins shirt. I couldn't tell if she really was the shift leader or someone in the back. I complained about my dinner being overcooked and tasting wierd. She was trying offer it being recooked. I had waited 40 plus mins on my food already. I didnt want to wait longer, so I declined. She stated that she could only offer me 20 percent off my bill. That was way less then what my meal cost. She was not at all empathic about the situation or the fact that the rest of my party was done with their meal and we just wanted to leave. When asking her why I couldn't get it comp she began to argue with me that I ate the small side salad that came with it. That was all I ate and a bit of the dinner and that was it. When I stated this, she argued again that her hands were tied and that was all she could offer since I ate the salad. My party was disappointed with her reaction. When I tried explaining to her that didn't make any sense and instead of helping me understand she yelled " thanks for yelling at me." And stormed off when I asked for the manager. She never apologized for the food being over cooked and bad. She was rude and honestly put a really bad taste in our mouths. I never yelled as her and even my boyfriend was thrown off stating I was just frustrated with the situation. She was completely defensive all the time and had a "I am right and your wrong attitude." I hope she gets the extra training she needs. Our server Nikki will most likely be the only reason we come back. She kept a smile on her face regardless of how busy she was and was more then willing to listen to my frustration and help me with a solution. I wouldn't mind if the shift lead offered something that cost the same amount of what I was left to pay for the meal that I did not eat. If she did then maybe I wouldnt even be writing this and move one with my day. I hope she gets the help and training that she needs and maybe learn from Nikki on how to...

I just "tried" to have lunch here with some dear friends, but the waitress was extremely rude to me. This was my first and last time at this establishment. Not only was the waitress rude to me, she went out of her way to be rude. She was rude from the moment I asked for a straw for my water. As soon as I asked for a straw, her body language showed she was irritated at my request. She left the table then came back a little bit later and put the stray on the table without saying a word. The only reason I stayed here at this point was because I wanted to enjoy my time with these friends who are very dear to me. Then this waitress was again extremely rude when I asked, while I was ordering a garden salad, a question about one of the dressings. I simply asked why the dressing was called "white" balsamic vinaigrette. Her exact response was "I don't know." I then asked her if that meant it was a creamy dressing. I thought my question was reasonable. Then, later during the meal, when she asked our table if we needed anything, I said exactly this: "when you get a moment, can I get a little more dressing?" She responded "yes". Then, after she had walked past our table multiple times helping other guests near us (and the restaurant was by no means anywhere near busy), but still hadn't brought me the additional dressing I requested, I simply said to her "excuse me, can I get the dressing", her exact response was "I'm getting it" with a nasty attitude. At this point, I'd lost my appetite due to her rude behavior and just left the salad uneaten, along with the dressing once she finally brought it to the table. I wish I had thought to get this waitress's name, but I was trying so hard to be polite and enjoy my time with my friends that I didn't think to get her name. Because of her horribly rude and unwarranted behavior, I would never eat at this place again and would never recommend it to anyone...
