Larry's Market — Restaurant in Brown Deer

My grand mother has shopped at Larry's once before to try their pot pies. My grandmother loves them. So today we thought we stop in again. My grandmother receives Quest & has always used her card at Larry's. Today we decided to stop in as we entered the store I asked the young lady at the counter if they accepted quest at the cheese counter & she replied yes. We then retrieved our items and proceeded to check out.The young lady told us our total my grandmother then gave the lady her quest card she looked at us with this disapproval and said "We don't take these." "Our machine just all of a sudden stop taking them one day" The look on my grandmother s face broke my heart. I said "I ask you when we walked in if You took quest and you said yes" She didn't even reply after that. I have never been so humiliated in all of my life. And my poor grandmother didn't talk on the entire ride home........SHAME ON THE STAFF AY LARRY'S...Or maybe this is their way of keeping African-American people from frequenting his...

What an awesome little market! We went in for some cheese and came out with a lovely little smorgasbord: several cheeses, smoked salmon, prosciutto, cherry preserves, crackers, and garlic cheese sticks. We bought some little "odds and ends" bits of cheese from their "orphan" bin, which allowed us to try some cheeses that we might not have gotten otherwise, and at a low cost. We were offered samples to help us decide, which was very nice. In addition to the snacky items we chose, the market features house-made pot pies with a huge variety of fillings; a deli case with prepared salads and side dishes; lots of styles of honey, mustard, sea salt, jams and preserves, and chocolates; bottled water and sodas; and a nice range of wines. This place was quite nice. Small, but did have a decent amount of stuff. I was a bit disappointed in the selection of cheeses. That's not to say that did not have a wide variety, but from what everyone has told me about this place, it was basically the cheese mecca of southeastern Wisconsin, and that simply wasn't the case. I came in looking for a list of about 25 cheeses, and they did not have a single one. I understand it might have been a shot in the dark, and maybe they were rarer cheeses, but I figured I'd maybe be able to find one or two. All that being said, I will be back to this place.
