Antīca Gastrobar — Restaurant in Brownsville

The original Antica is no more. Horrible service. Horrible attitude. We were regular local customers and excellent tippers…but we will no longer spend our money here. All staff is behind the counter and will come by to ask you if you’re “doing ok” but will not take your order “today” because they “are under new management” and all orders are at the bar. When we asked why, the response was “ I went out of my way to ask you if you were doing ok but you need to order at the bar.” We travel all over. We are true supporters of local business. But Antica will no longer have our support and I will share with friends. It seems they will only cater to people who will tolerate they poor business habits. Another loss of what was once a great gastrobar. Oh…and good luck with the drinks…they are no longer what they used to be. They need experienced bartenders like they...

What happened?! Such a shame. Used to be a top notch bar with great service, delicious drinks and posh ambiance. But must be undergoing management or ownership change because these last few visits have been a disappointment. They no longer offer table service because supposedly they are understaffed. But we actually see more staff than when they first opened. The new crew seems disinterested. They come around to ask if you need anything, but if you say you do need a drink, you need to go get it yourself. What’s next? I’ll have to make my own drinks? They used to have amazing bartenders such as Francisco, Alice, and Luis. All of them are gone. Such a waste of a beautiful place. Not sure what will become of Antica, but as long as they continue as they are, we don’t want any part of...

After reading recent reviews, we were a bit skeptical about checking this place out, but I have to say that we really enjoyed our Palomas and the charcuterie board we tried was good. We did not have to order our drinks at the bar, they came to our table and frequently checked in to see if we needed anything else. Hoping this place continues to offer great drinks...
