Barnyard Burger & Bar — Restaurant in Brownsville

First, this was our last resort of a place to eat last night as every other place had long wait times and we hadn’t eaten all day. Secondly, the food was actually really good. I was pretty impressed for it being pretty late at night. Was around 10:30-11. Thirdly, at first I was confused because there was an added 18% on the bill for parties of 6 or more. Mind you though we all paid separately. Regardless, it is what it is. I was fine with it. But after paying and getting the receipt back and normally you would add your tip then which I did I added a couple more dollars as I normally tip 20% and like I said the food was really good. Well after getting back I noticed they charged my card an additional 3.5 dollars on top of the tip I left after already being forced to tip 18%. Unfortunately I can’t remember the waiters name for the life of me. I came here after work looking for food because it was listed as open. It was around 11:30pm on a week night so I was surprised that it was. When I got there it was more of a bar than a restaurant. I assume they have karaoke nights and I’d walked right into the middle of it. I was hoping to have a nice quiet meal alone but the atmosphere was simply not what I expected. I guess the name does say bar so I guess that’s on me. In any regard, maybe on a different day, in a different mood I would have been lit but after a long day I didn’t wanna hear strangers screaming into a microphone with their poor rendition of a random Mariah Carey song.

Update: I came back in the day time because I can’t get enough of those sliders & the service was so much better. I believe the owner took care of me & the cook offered me complimentary fries...

Service is HORRIBLE.

We arrived, there was no greeting, no help with seating, and as first timer's, this was a bit jarring. We chose a table for ourselves. We spent most of our time there waiting for the waitress to come to our table. She only took our order and never brought the ketchup that we had requested 10 mimutes earlier. We made attempts to call her over, waving, making eye contact, and she completely ignored us. There were only 2 other tables there, so there was no reason for her not to see us. I had to get up and go to her in order to get service. To top it all off, when it came to pay, she took forever to come and collect the card, and even longer to bring it back. We saw her walk around with my card in her hand. We also had to walk to her to get our card back. Don't tip. Save your money.
