✨1 Day Bryson City Itinerary✨ Save for your Great Smoky Mtns Trip ⬇️ 1. Alum Cave Trail 2. Breakfast @ Everett Street Diner 3. Deep Creek Trail 4. Lunch/Shopping @ BC Outdoors 5. Afternoon relaxation 6. Dinner @ The Rice Wagon 7. Soco Falls 8. Waterrock Knob Sunset Tips for your day! - All the hikes are relatively kid friendly - I recommend getting to Alum Cave early if you can as it gets packed. You can always skip this and opt to just do breakfast and Deep Creek - There are a ton of cute shops near BC Outdoors to check out local goods - If you’re looking for other dinner options, Nantahala Brewing and Anthony’s are great alternatives - Soco Falls is on the way to Waterrock Knob and a great stop! Make sure to check the weather because the sunset can be finicky at Waterrock… but when it’s good it’s REALLY good If you’re here from reels, follow me for more ↠ @catescompass Remember to Leave No Trace when adventuring outdoors: - Pack out what you pack in - Respect wildlife - Be considerate of other adventurers #greatsmokymountains #greatsmokymountainsnationalpark #greatsmokeymountains #greatsmokies #brysoncity #brysoncitync #smokies #smokymountains

So we are in Bryson city on a mini vacation. Looked up places to eat. We tried this one out. I must say we were totally impressed! We were sat at a table quickly. Our hostess and server were extremely nice. The place is very well kept up. Based on the look of the eating area if the kitchen was half as clean, then you know it’s awesome. They have a nice menu of options to choose from. We sorta put them on the spot and asked if we could order something not on the menu. Without missing a beat our server said , you sure can, you can custom order anything you want and as long as we have the ingredients we will bring it out to you. So I took them up on that. I ordered a custom breakfast sandwich like I make at home on toast. Sure enough that’s what they brought me. I could go on and on but know this. I worked at Pepsi for 13 years delivering to restaurants and currently work at the largest broad line food distributor in North America. I deliver to restaurants 5 days a week so trust me I know what to look for. I’m an expert in that field. This place is on point and I would definitely eat there again. You will not walk away disappointed. I even look for little things because they matter. Attention to detail is a great indication of what the rest of the place looks like (for instance parts that you are not able to see). Like the food prep area. One example, they know how to properly hang the American flag when it’s draped vertically (Union is always on the observers left) I come from a military family so I pick up on that.

When a place is great, you eat there 3 times in 3 days. Twice I had breakfast and once I had lunch. I'll get my absolutely only bummer about the place out of the way first and that is that they stop serving breakfast at 11 during the week and 11:30 on weekends. I'm a breakfast guy so the words "We're done serving breakfast" makes me want to cry. That being said, if they didn't stop serving breakfast, I'd have never had the Reuben, which was great. I also had an omelette and biscuits and gravy and both were excellent. But the best of all was the Mountain Man breakfast. 3 eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, hash browns, and pancakes all on one plate. It was seriously one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. Everything on the plate had great flavor and they all complimented each other very well. The pancakes were among the best I have ever had. The funny thing was that I heard a man at the next table saying exactly same thing as I was leaving. The service was fast and super friendly and the place was nice and very clean. They even went out of their way to accommodate me and my big backpack. I give this place two enthusiastic 👍 and if I could tell you only one place to eat in Bryson City, this would be it.

When we were on vacation, my wife and I were wandering around Bryson City while looking for a place to eat. While doing so, several local people (who probably noticed us furtively looking at the restaurants) recommended this place to us. According to one guy, "This is the best place in town to eat."

He wasn't wrong. This place is fantastic.

If you look at my other reviews, you can see that I appreciate good service, quality food, and friendly attitudes. This place exceeds all of those standards by a mile. We were treated like family from the minute we walked in the door, the food was delicious (we ate every bite), and the entire restaurant (not just the servers and owner) were friendly. Families, businesspeople, and workers were all congregating on a bustling Friday afternoon, which made this place feel like what it is -- a cozy southern restaurant that wants you to enjoy your time with them.

In short, I'm a southerner through and through, and this is a southern restaurant. Big smiles, good food, and friendly people make it stand out, and the locals were spot on with their recommendation. I want to make a trip back to Bryson City just to visit Everett Street Diner again, it was really that good.

If you're reading this and want a recommendation for good food while in town, you owe it to yourself to...

Wow! This is a special place....the staff are so friendly and joyful with smiles on their faces and willing to chat and have fun. On our (me + husband) first visit, we were greeted by Mike...he's SO incredibly kind and fun! He sat us by the window (which became "our" table on each visit!!) and we looked at the extensive menu of delicious options. We ordered the Mountain Man which is the best of all worlds and split it. It's a mountain of food...but not just food....incredibly DELICIOUS food. OMG! Best pancake and I could swim in the gravy. World famous is no stretch! We're from TX where we gravy any & everything....this beat them all! There was a table with a birthday to celebrate and Mike got everyone's attention and the whole restaurant sang "Happy Birthday" to this sweet 98 year old young fellow. What a great way to start our time in the Smokey Mountains!! We spent a glorious month in Bryson City and visited the diner lots! Mike remembered our name every time!

As we drove away headed to our next stop on our trip I listened to "Blue Sky" by the Allman Brothers for the first time. It spoke a beautiful message that reflects the beauty of this place and the beauty and heart of the people in Everett...
