— My friends let me take you on a journey of a night not worth forgetting. We spied red letters across an intersection saying “Iron Wok” but it might as well have said paradise.
Upon entering we were greeted with an air of nostalgia and the sound of Chinese lo-fi beats.

Cozy in our booth we ordered Jasmine green tea and were delighted by the thick juicy freshness of the clearly homemade chicken egg rolls. The egg drop soup befriended by crispy wontons did not disappoint and our entrees were truly delectable.
I’m surprised the police didn’t show up by how criminally delicious my drunken noodles were (with beef). The beef, soft and thick like a wonderful lover.
The General Tso’s Chicken, where most restaurants take short cuts, was obviously prepared with care and focus by the magicians helming the wok. The select cuts of chicken were tastefully battered and slovenly sauced AND enough to feed a family of four.
We ached to finish our delectable dinner and couldn’t bear to throw away such culinary mastery, quickly our server prepared our now to go dinner which currently resides in our cooler as we cross state lines. We look forward to our hotel bed….but truly we look forward to the unctuous dalliance our body…nay our souls will partake this evening.
Thank you Iron Wok, may your legacy burn brightly...
Read moreSorry excuse for Chinese food! We drove from several towns over the mountain to eat here. It’s not the same-terrible! Spring roll thing app had odd taste and consistency of whatever was inside. Didn’t say anything… ordered moo moo gai pan and chicken egg foo young. Moo moo came out first, took maybe 15 min later to get foo young. Tasted the first while waiting and had strange tasting chicken and woody bamboo shoots and sour, odd taste on everything. Sent back. Replaced with general tsao chicken and waited while finally goo young came out. It was all egg, lots oil, no bean sprouts, didn’t notice meat, sauce was tahini bland weird flavor. Brought out Gen tsao ;was over fried, dried out, that same odd sour/off flavor as everything had, overly sweet sauce. Fried rice was dry and no vegetables. Paid and Both of us left disappointed and 3/4 our unfinished plates behind. Mgr kept insisting it’s america Chinese, everybody cooks different… wont be back. Id hate to be on vacation and spend $ and time on bad meal. Can’t get that weird taste out of my mouth, after leaving. Was looking forward to new, as we drove 40 minutes...
Read moreI rarely, if ever, leave a 1 star review. But this place just didn't do it for us. My family ate here on our last night of vacation in the Smoky Mountains. The first issue was that after being seated for 10 minutes, they decided to sit a group with 5 loud young children at a table just a couple feet away from us. There were tables at the back and sides of restaurant away from others that would have been more suitable, rather than by childless customers and older people who were all pretty annoyed with the noise level as we were. Anyway, the four of us all ordered the hibachi dishes. We got shrimp, steak, and chicken. ALL the meat was overcooked, which completely ruined it. Also, they were heavy on the rice and very light on veges (zucchini/onion), we got more mushrooms than anything, which I didn't want. And our server didn't check on us after the food came out, so two of us had empty drinks halfway through the meal. At the end, when we were wanting our check, he finally asked "do you want another beer?" Well, ya, I did 30+ minutes ago! Not impressed, won't return when we come back to...
