To begin with, the area near the front podium felt quite cramped for my family of three. During our wait, we encountered a young server who passed through the space multiple times without acknowledging us, which could be improved by encouraging more courteous communication, like saying “excuse me” or “pardon me.”
We had expressed a preference for a table or booth rather than a high top, but were seated at a high top nonetheless. It would have enhanced our experience if our seating preferences were accommodated.
Additionally, we felt a bit rushed to order our entrées right after receiving our appetizer, which added some pressure to our dining experience. I ordered the chicken penne pasta, and while I found it to be somewhat watery, the overall food quality was satisfactory.
As we were leaving, a woman at the podium, who I assume was the shift supervisor, didn’t engage with us, which felt a bit unwelcoming. Overall, the staff appeared to be less engaged, which affected our experience. Perhaps fostering a more positive and welcoming atmosphere among the team could greatly enhance the diners' experience...
Read moreI was out with some girls I hadn't hung out with in 11 years or more, and we will most definitely be back. As far as accessibility goes, it wasn't the best, but it was far from the worst. There were spots of thick, bumpy ice in the parking lot, no automatic openers on the doors, and the entrance was quite crowded. However, the tables were spaced so that I could sit comfortably and the person sitting at the table behind me wasn't crowded. The food, though. 🤤 I haven't had "Crapplebee's" in dang near 10 years because it was always mediocre at best. My "irresisti-bowl" was delicious! My friends got three cheese chicken penne, four cheese mac and cheese with some sort of delicious looking chicken, and a quesadilla burger. They were all quite satisfied with their food. Despite their poor accessibility in the parking lot and entrance, I will be taking my family...
Read moreMy to-go order of nachos was a smaller portion than normal, which was a surprise that I found when I got home and looked in the bag. When I called to complain about the rudeness that is pulled all-too-frequently on to-go customers, I was told the restaurant ran out of the standard boxes for the order and improvised by using smaller packaging that had plastic wrap as the cover. I'm all for being able to improvise, but not when it comes down to the fact that I'm not getting what I paid for. The portion was noticeably smaller and yet I paid the same price. Is it too much to ask for transparency? This sort of thing is really frustrating, and it happens not just at Applebee's but practically everywhere. Can I order honesty please? Am I going to get a credit for the smaller order that...
