"Zio's Deli on Elmwood: A Sandwich Lover's Haven with a Bread Twist"

Zio's Deli, a cozy spot nestled on Elmwood Avenue, is more than just a sandwich shop; it's an experience for the senses. With a varied menu, friendly atmosphere, and a story of evolving bread choices, Zio's stands out in the local culinary scene.

Ambiance and Service: Zio's greets you with a warm, inviting ambiance. The deli has a casual, yet lively atmosphere, making it an ideal place for a quick lunch or a leisurely afternoon bite. The staff at Zio's are notably friendly and passionate about their craft, adding to the overall welcoming experience.

Bread Journey: Initially, Zio's used baguettes for their sandwiches. These baguettes, while fresh, were unfortunately quite dry, affecting the overall enjoyment of their otherwise delicious sandwiches. Recognizing this, Zio's switched to a softer bread from a new supplier, which was an improvement, though there have been occasional issues with freshness.

Menu Highlights: Zio's menu is a testament to their commitment to quality and variety. Alongside classic sandwiches, they offer a range of creative options. They have a delightful selection of meats, including traditional choices like turkey and ham, and more gourmet options like prosciutto and capicola. The cheese selections are equally impressive, featuring classics like Swiss and cheddar, alongside artisan options like gouda and brie. Vegetarian options are also plentiful, with fresh, locally-sourced vegetables playing a starring role.

Specialties: Their panini selection deserves a special mention. When pressed, the sandwiches gain a crispy texture and a harmonious blend of flavors, making them a must-try.

Beverages and Sides: Zio's also offers a variety of sides, including homemade chips and fresh salads. Their beverage selection includes artisanal sodas, local craft beers, and a range of coffees and teas.

Hours and Accessibility: Zio's is open from 10 AM to 7 PM on weekdays, and 11 AM to 5 PM on weekends, catering to both the lunch crowd and early dinner-goers. The deli is easily accessible, located in a bustling area with ample parking.

Final Thoughts: While Zio's Deli has had its ups and downs with bread selection, the quality of their ingredients, the variety in their menu, and their commitment to customer satisfaction make it a standout establishment. The staff's enthusiasm and the deli's welcoming vibe make each visit a pleasure. I remain optimistic that Zio's will continue to refine their bread choices. Until then, their warm, pressed sandwiches are a perfect way to enjoy the full range of flavors Zio's...

UPDATE- Ridiculous how you guys are creating fake reviews after my honest review. Yes 6 positive reviews out of no where when you guys typically gain reviews once a month. Very sus & shows how guilty you are & the truth speaks for itself. Crazy how I would come here & spend money even when the food sometimes didn’t meet expectations. There are cars that park on the side where the permit for unload & loading hasn’t been renewed or paid since 2015 meaning they don’t have the right towards it unless they do & their gonna sit here & out of all the cars that park there everyday leave a letter on MY CAR that my husband had to let me know of if I keep parking there they will call the tow truck company to tow my car. You guys do not own the street unless yall pay the bill for that space who do yall think yall are? I see why y’all’s business isn’t thriving. Dont park your car there if your a customer or have apartments in that building or around they might just have your car towed. Bad look on a business & for...

Fresh Quality Ingredients!

I have had the pleasure of eating here a few times now. I love the Luther Hero! I always say I’m going to try something else/new but I always resort back to the Luther!

The chicken cutlet is always perfect! The pomodoro sauce is just right and the fresh mozzarella hits right every time! The bread is usually toasted to perfection. When a hero with sauce on it is still good hours later it says a lot!

I don’t have the best pictures but you MUST TRY Zio’s if you have not already. All their ingredients are fresh and delicious. You can tell their food is made with care. Cant...

This place rules. I'm from Philly and was in Buffalo for the Every Time I Die festival and heard about Zio. Sandwhiches are a big deal here in Philly and let me assure you, Zio's is legit. I had the zio and the luther with vodka sauce and would happily eat either again. I preferred the baguette to the regular sub (hoagie!) roll but both were good. I also tried the mac salad, thought it needed more salt but i still enjoyed it. Also, don't sleep on the chocolate chip cookies. One of the best I've had, period.
