I had an exceptional experience at a Korean BBQ restaurant tonight. As soon as I walked in, I was welcomed by the lovely hostess Christina, who kindly informed me of a short wait. The wait was brief, and we were promptly seated by three standout waitstaff members: Kasey, William, and Armen. Their exceptional service truly made our evening memorable. The marinated seafood and meats were cooked to perfection, offering a delicious variety that left us thoroughly satisfied throughout the meal. What's more, the restaurant only charged a $10 corking fee, allowing us to enjoy premium sake and wine without overspending. The engaging waitstaff, including the waiters and waitresses, enhanced the overall enjoyment of our dining experience. The atmosphere was delightful, with upbeat music playing at a volume that allowed for comfortable conversation among our group. Our table had a fantastic time at this restaurant, and I wholeheartedly recommend giving it a try. Additionally, the restaurant offered an à la carte menu as well as the option to choose from their all-you-can-eat selections.

I don't even want to waste my time going into details but simply this place is overpriced (no I don't put quantity over quality), which leads me to saying it's mediocre food, with mediocre service in a very tight dining area. The workers run around trying to serve everybody. They don't have some key items and Sauces that most KBBQ spots have and I know this is Japanese BBQ, not KBBQ. Sauce in pics is what I'm referring to. It's brisket sauce I believe that is what they call it. When we got "spicy mayo" I thought it was peanut sauce since it was so dark but they said it's spicy mayo and then I taste it and my pops did too and both of us thought it tasted like ranch. It was spicy ranch (ranch and Sriracha) but they swore it was mayo. Lol k. Sooooo many better options to choose from. It was a nice reminder why I don't like coming to Gyu-Kaku. Happy dining!

The lunch specials at this place are fantastic, granted you have some time to et some cookin done...It’s fairly quick but still I don’t think you can consider it a quick bite. The menu and beer selections are great. The food seemed fresh. The beef rice was amazing. Probably my fav thing on the menu. The spicy beef also was full of flavor as well as the shrimp. I can’t wait to go back there soon. The rice tempura spicy tuna is not their specialty and I do not recommend you ordering it bec I was a bit disappointed with it, but I decided to focus on the really mattered and the rest was all great.

The food taste 4 stars The speed 5 stars Clean 4-5 stars

Service 3 stars [I wanted to drink a Juice (non-alcoholic) , the waiter brought me a "Sex on the Beach" Cocktail without alcohol and charged the full price for a Cocktail with alcohol. I claimed, that this is not fair - the waiter signalised to ask for a solution, vanished and didn't return to our table.

Waiters are rotating, so there is no constant waiter as a reliable point of contact. The Quality of waiters is very different, while some are very concentrated and friendly - other seem very cold and just fast (like in a fast-food chainstore)

The atmosphere 3 stars - the music volume was so loud that my ears still hurt after leaving this restaurant. It was difficult to speak during the dinner. A lot of noise, even the restaurant wasn't very full.

Positive characteristics are:

The food was all in one fresh (Only one single cheese filling was missing in a specific dish, otherwise absolutely fine!)

A very positive aspect is the grill on every table, which provides a naturally warm atmosphere.

We chose not to give tips, because of the ridiculous too loud music volume and the fraud with the "cocktail without alcohol", which is literally a juice - a juice was 3USD instead of 6USD on the menu.

This restaurant has potential, but it should work urgently on its service quality!

An example is as well, one of the waiters just dragged the receipt leather case with the money and our credit card, without mentioning "thank you" without even making a non-verbal statement. It was simply on the borderline to arrogance. A bit friendlier appearance should help this business in future.

4 of 6 of the waiters were absolutely ok - 2 were on the borderline to arrogance. A pitty that it has this rotation principe - you literally have the feeling seeing every 10minutes a new point of contact.

When we entered the front door it took 2-3 minutes and we received a table , without reservation - the woman at the front door did a very friendly and professional job. This was a very positive first appearance/contact and next to the food quality, we thought that the restaurant has 4-5 stars value. Even the toilet was clean and absolutely ok - nothing fancy, but absolutely ok.

Maybe we will return in future. The potential average service and too loud music unfortunately produce unnecessary...

Really liked this place until I called and was disrespected by the kid who answered the phone. So I asked to speak with a manager since he seemed not to listen . He was still rude and hung up on me. I called back and then I can hear him telling the manager I asked for a reservation (which I didn’t ) and he kept telling me they don’t take them. I proceeded to let the manager know that I realize that they do not take reservations and I respect that. I said but I was going to be bringing in a party of 14 this evening. I’ve worked in the restaurant business and understand that knowing that ahead of time could help. She said the restaurant only has 18 tables. I reassured her we had no problems sitting at multiple tables. She said you can call the downtown Los Angeles location and go there. I explained that that was not a feasible option for our scenario. She proceeded to tell me That they cannot accommodate 14 people even if we are separating into different tables and that I should not come in. No worries girl we will never come back in. Who runs a business like this? Why would you turn away 14 customers ??? And here is an added bonus. I know someone who works there as a server and she said they do this on a regular basis with no problem. Gets worse. So I share the experience with my friend who is the server. She said to call and ask for either Elijah or jim who are the real managers. I call back. The same kid who answered the phone asked me four times why I needed to speak with the manager that I specifically asked for and I asked him kindly to please just put one of the gentleman on the phone. So then he’s having an open conversation with the woman who told me not to come in while I’m on the phone and I can hear the entire conversation. telling Him unless I give a reason not to put me on the phone...

I ate at this restaurant for dine la and ordered the three meat combo dining launch package for $25. The appetizers were fine rice was fine slightly cold cucumber salad was good salad was okay except for the eggs in the salad and the miso soup was okay. The problem came when I cooked the meat I ordered ribeye and beef rib and spicy pork. The waiter told me the meat took 40 seconds to cook yet I cooked it for 15 minutes and when I stuck it in my mouth it was raw everything was raw the grill malfunctioned and was hardly hot at all in the room was so dark I couldn't even tell that the meat was raw. They immediately wanted to get me new three meats but after ingesting a raw piece of meat that made me queasy I was not up for it. I called the manager I expected to pay for half of my dying la $25 meal as I didn't get dessert or the meat which was the main entree. He said he would count my meal but it wasn't the manager came out. It was another worker that came out named Gustavo and they charged me $23 for $25 meal even though I didn't get my three meets one of them was very fatty by the way but it didn't matter because they were all raw because of the malfunction of the stove and the darkness of the restaurant. I got food sick poisoning and I reported them to the Los Angeles department of health case pending. Avoid this place the meat is fatty the heat malfunctions and I ingested raw meat that made me very ill. The end kicker was they charged me $20 for $25 meal when I only got 1/3 of my meal. Of what this place at all cost unless you enjoy getting...
