India’s Tandoori was a decent a la carte Indian place right in Burbank downtown. I ordered a mango lassi, the chicken makhani, garlic basil naan, and mango kulfi. The ambiance of India’s tandoori was nice as there was lots of seating and cool Indian decor with an authentic vibe. The service was also nice as the food came out fast and servers were very attentive even when there were more customers.
Starting with the mango lassi, it was pretty good it didn’t taste very fresh but it had good flavor and was not great but not bad. It was still refreshing though. The garlic basil naan was delicious though there was barely any basil flavor the naan still went well with our chicken dish because of its fluffiness in the middle and crispiness on the side! The chicken makhani was very tasty as the chicken was very tender and there was plenty of it in the dish. The gravy was very flavorful and very savory and I was glad because the curry didn’t taste incredibly oily like a lot of Indian curries do. Lastly, my favorite part of the meal was the amazing mango kulfi which was not made fresh it was served in plastic but the kulfi was still DELICIOUS.
OVERALL, India’s Tandoori was a pretty good option for Indian food and it was also well priced not too pricey. For the pretty good food, the affordability, and the prime location I would definitely recommend India’s Tandoori to others! P.S. if you get a curry that is very bright colored the colors may stay under your nails for...
Read moreI am of East Indian descent and let me mention that the highly popular chicken tikka masala dish is supposed to be made from chunks of seasoned, marinated white meat chicken broiled in a charcoal-fired tandoor which is a special type of cooking oven. Nearly all dishes advertised as chicken tikka masala are actually chicken cooked directly in masala sauce and are almost always overcooked. Chicken tikka is delicious and juicy. So when I arrived, I asked to order the sauce on the side which would require the restaurant to actually make the chicken tikka in the tandoor. The server said okay and then I received a bill for chicken tikka grill $12.99 on a silly sizzling platter (like fajitas but tikka is not cooked on the platter) and a bed of onions and green bell pepper which makes no sense to me since this is not a traditional presentation. This is more like modified to mimic Latin food? Unknown why they do that, it is nonsense. Then the bill had $7.99 for the sauce! All I asked for was sauce on the side so I knew that they were broiling the chicken in the tandoor. Service was sedentary...
Read moreMy wife was craving some Indian food so I decided to check out the neighborhood to see if there were any good spots around. I placed an order for a Biryani and Combination menu item and was hoping to be impressed. I drove to the restaurant which is about 10 minutes from place. I was surprised to see the place was literally empty. I asked about my order and they said it would be around 20 min or so for it to be ready. I walked around for about 20 min and returned to the place. I picked up the food and was hoping to be amazed. Upon my return, I opened up the food and was surprised. The quantity of the food is not that great. The combination platter was not impressive at all. The chicken was overcooked and dry, the shrimp was good and the fish was good. However there was a lot of yellow turmeric in the sauteed onion and green pepper. The rice in the biryani was mushy and not the basmati rice that it should be the flavor was ok but I was thoroughly disappointed in the food at this place. I have tasted much better food from other small joints. I would not...
