Zankou Chicken — Restaurant in Burbank

WARNING: The workers at this location are like a pack. Very sneaky have hidden attitudes. If you don't order the way they want they have a big problem and immediately call on each other and start speaking Spanish and gang up. The cashier will call over to the cooks and seem all upset and ready to confront you. They told me the creamed garlic which clearly has whipped soybean oil in it just pure garlic but that is not true. The workers hide the food prep by standing really close to the counter while they do sneaky things with your food. I caught one pulling meat out of my wrap. Also I think one tried to spit on the food when his back was turned. but I was watching closely and another warned him stopped him. Then he put the meat back in. They watch you and stare back if you try to watch them they don't like it. Something is seriously wrong with the workers there. Not to be trusted. Of you order out menu and do not customize anything and don't watch them and just ignore maybe they are OK but if you are picky and ask to many questions you will be the target of their revenge. I thought to ask for a refund. But I so hungry I are it. The wrap was poorly rolled and fell apart. Later I had a sore throat and felt sick! I will never ever eat there again! Even though the food is a good recipe and such the workers ruin the experience. Other locations might be better. It depends on the quality of people the I think. Just be forewarned about...

Ok so here we go… Issue #1 I never received an email confirmation after ordering online. Not a big deal to me but that leads me to issue #2 which is the guy at the front asking me to show him proof of my order. Is it because he didn’t believe me? Even though I told him exactly what I ordered? But even more alarming..I watched 4 people come in after me with to go orders and he NEVER asked them for proof of an order. But the black woman gets asked? WHY? Issue #3 is that they made my order wrong, which ok. That happens. No biggie. The problem is that they remade it but didn’t think to say hey, excuse me, your order is ready! So I just sat there while my food, unbeknownst to me, sat on the counter. I won’t even go into the poor customer service skills that the cashier had. I guess that’s the least of my concerns. It was just so disappointing to experience this. I was passing thru on travel and it was just a huge disappointment.

Love, Love, Love this place. Did I mention that I Love this place? I get the chicken tarna wrap, add lettuce, red onions, and get the falafel special with tahini on the side. The wrap is always SO delicious. It's really something to write home about. The garlic sauce on the wrap is incredible. They are almost always really fast at making the order. I Love the new gender neutral bathrooms! Now, I can stop sneaking into the women's restroom; (Women's restrooms are always cleaner because they haven't been ransacked by Burbank barbarians). I just wanted to say Burbank barbarians. The male restroom was always clean here, too (but not in the rest of the world, where I will still have to sneak in and out of the women's restroom, for a hygienic experience); But, enough about me.
