Looking for a quick bite for lunch after an appointment in Burien. Had heard good things about Red Wagon in Renton but hadn’t tried it. My wife and I decided to give it a go and WOW- great choice! I’ve added pic of my Red Wagon Burger and my wife’s Grilled Chicken Sandwich. I didn’t taste her sandwich because I had all I could handle but she said it was really good. Although they didn’t ask how I wanted my burger cooked, it was fully cooked (no pink) but still juicy. If you like a loaded burger, this is your new BFF: 1/3 lb. ground chuck topped with cheddar, lettuce, tomato, and bacon, with sauce, grilled onions and grilled mushrooms below the meat. The brioche-style bun was toasted perfectly. Although I gave this a 5 out of 5, next time I would opt for a cheese burger, maybe with bacon, or else a mushroom and onion burger. All in, it’s just a palate overload for me. Good fries, too: the kind that aren’t shoestring but just as crispy due to what I suspect is a cornstarch coating. Had sodas but they had a couple of beers on tap and a few other selections in cans and bottles. Walk up order; delivered to the casual table. I’m adding this to my top five burger...
Read moreI recently ordered the Mushroom Philly Cheesesteak and was impressed by the generous portion size and the quality of the ingredients. The meat was plentiful, and the roll was fresh and held up well to the filling, which is crucial for a cheesesteak. However, the overall flavor profile was disappointingly bland. Despite the amount of steak and mushrooms, the sandwich lacked the necessary savory "kick" (umami) that a great cheesesteak should have. It tasted under-seasoned, which affected both the beef and the mushrooms. The cheese was also very mild and didn't contribute much needed saltiness or tanginess. This has the potential to be a fantastic cheesesteak; the cook simply needs to amp up the seasoning—a little more salt, pepper, garlic, and perhaps a dash of Worcestershire sauce on the meat and mushrooms would make a huge difference. I recommend visiting if you prefer large portions, but be prepared to add your own...
Read moreFirst time i ever called a restraunt to give compliments, and I don't review restraunts either. Saw this on doordash and thought it was a ghost kitchen with good pictures but after a 25 minute trip from burien to kent:
The chicken sandwich was insanely crispy and large, the spice was actually flavorful and had good heat, the buns were nice and toasted, veggies crisp and fresh. My roommate gushed equally on their burger.
Fries? Crisp, soft, and flavorful; not even overly greasy. Onion rings? Some of the best I've had. Fried pickles? Fried pickles.
I've lived in WA for 3 years since i moved from the South, first time I've had a chicken sandwhich remotely close to the quality of home. Honestly just fantastic, further understated by the fact it was a doordash order...
