This is our first time visiting Carvers and surely will be our last. Before I get into why they earned 1 star let me say that our waitress was very nice and friendly. We 1st ordered the Sunday Special ( Beef with Rice and Chicken with Rice) the food arrived to our table in less than 10 mins. This was a clear sign that the food was prepared. The chicken was cold with warm gravy on top and the beef looked like gravy train and the taste was terrible. We then ordered fried chicken sandwich and fried flounder sandwich with fries. Once it arrived we were yet disappointed again. The fish was greasy and slimy. The chicken had old cheese in it and the chicken tasted like old grease and the fries were freezer burned. Once our waitress returned to the table we let her know that we were satisfied with the food she asked if we wanted anything else we said no and that we had to the see the lady upfront. Once we approached the counter to let them know that we will pay for what we consumed (1 sprite and hushpuppies) the cashier started questioning us and was very rude we simply told her that the food was not good she instantly caught an attitude by rolling her eyes and wobbling her neck. The waitress should very careful how she responds to...
Read moreCame in on 09/10/2017 after church for dinner. The first order was the chicken and rice special and my friend ordered the beef and gravy. Both of the meals were under room temperature. We informed the waitress, she was nice about reordering us another meal. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich with fries and my friend ordered the fish sandwich. Sadly the the food was cooked in old grease and the after taste was terrible. We told the waitress who inform us to tell the cashier. THE CASHIER WAS VERY RUDE. She kept eyeing the waitress as if we were annoying to her. I paid for the soda and I still tipped our waitress even though we did not eat our food. I will never come to this business again. To the owner, be careful how you respond to this post. My friend and I are pillars not only in the Burlington community, also Greensboro. The cashier should have conducted herself in a professional manner, on this note on top of our cold food, this business will get a one star. The waitress was kind and sweet. My friend thinks we had a bad experience and treatment due to racial concerns. To the cashier be mindful of the faces you make in front of paying customers, especially when you do not know who they are and who...
Read moreIf I could give it a 0, I would. I wanted to take my mother and daughter for dinner, but I wasn't too hungry. We get there and I decide that I will get my daughter a kids meal and my mother wants a regular meal. I ask if they have a one trip salad bar, she replies "yes but only with a meal". I reply "Well I'm purchasing my mother's meal, so I will just have her salad, since she didn't want one." She tells me, "You can't do that, it has to be YOUR meal." Okay, so I reply "I'm not really 9$ hungry, so I won't order anything, no worries." Then the manager comes over, I explain to him what I'd like to do, he says, "No, I won't do that, if I do it for you, I'll have to do it for everyone!" (So your okay, with making no revenue off my body in the booth, because I won't order a 9$ meal, rather than a one trip salad bar for $3.99? Tell me the difference in me eating my moms salad, and me sharing with my daughter?) Sounds like that is a simple decision, add a one trip salad bar for $3.99 to your menu. Then my mom is like "Do you just want to go some place else?" "Yes! Gladly!" We went to Little Italy, with great...
