Wait staff was attentive, decor, design is very nice. Tables are way to close to each other. Sound stage is to loud for a casual dinner. The reason for the 2 stars is the food! Have been cooking professionally for 20 years of my life, there is no technique or passion whatsoever. The food was so bland and not cooked with any love whatsoever. I tried the gnocchi, pork belley and meatloaf. Pork belley was a terrible cut and rendered incorrectly and lacked any glaze or flavor very very disappointing. Worse so than the pork itself was the "cheddar pollenta" my god 100% certain they through some corn meal in unsalted water and called it a day. The shaved brussel sprouts dude if any chef that works there is reading this use some salt and atleast attempt to get some carmelisation on your veg. The gnocchi if not frozen (which i highly suspect) lacked any care, dough was over worked if not frozen, sauce left no depth tasted like jarred to be honest. And again chefs are you just blanching your veg? Come on now. Meatloaf what can I say so disappointing so bland so tough. Will not be back sorry to the owner but you have no business charging the prices you are charging for the less than lackluster dishes your chefs are cooking with no regard for...
Read moreTonight we visited a restaurant that will become our new favorite local spot, Goodnight Johnny’s! From the moment we walked in, the hostess greeted us with a big smile and told us all about the live music we could come back for on Thursdays - Sundays. The ambience is eclectic, with cozy fireplace corners, winged chairs that nuzzle your back, fiery red bar stools, and traditional pub seating. This restaurant is a beauty of reds, browns and blues. Our waiter, Lu, made the experience even better than we expected. You could tell he had a passion for the food, describing the flavors in a colorful way. I was sold on the Blackened Salmon BLT, and the bursts of flavor did not disappoint! I paired it with soft, pillowy sweet potato fries. My husband ordered the meatloaf, and the chef kindly obliged by subbing out the Mac n’ cheese and green beans with the cornbread and Brussels sprouts. The homemade cornbread was delicious and thickly sliced. The Brussels sprouts were chopped with bacon and had a smoky flavor. The meatloaf was not your traditional meatloaf and had some texture when compared to typical dishes we’ve had. We welcomed the different flavor! Visit this new spot in Burlington. You will not be...
Read moreI work in the plaza myself, I am a massage therapist at My Salon Suites and I was elated to learn that a restaurant would be close by. I finally had the chance to go in the other day at the end of my shift, and it was absolutely spectacular. I enjoyed the upbeat jazz playing over the radio and the natural lighting. A client of mine recommended I try the Chicken Pot Pie but when I had gone in, I was told that they wouldn’t be serving this dish for another hour. However, my waiter had asked the kitchen ( without my request, which was VERY nice of him to do ), and I was delighted to learn that they would prepare it for me anyway! I also ordered an appetizer of poutine fries that were delicious and not at all over saturated with gravy. A few friends and hairdressers from My Salon Suites had come in as well and I joined them over at bar afterward for some light conversation. There were kind people behind the bar, and it was pleasant to share conversation with other restaurant goers at the counter. It all made this first time experience for me quite an enjoyable occasion. I will be back. Thank you,...
