Deleted my last review of a 4, so I could post this 1 star review. I wish I could leave way more detail via star ratings, instead I'll hope you may read my explanation.
After seeing all of the local watering holes around town in Mebane were full (this being the weekend of Thanksgiving), a friend of mine and I decided to shift our dinner to Hooters. We knew it was Sunday, and there would be loud football fans everywhere. So Burlington Hooters was our audible, knowing there weren't many choices.
He got there ahead of me, but I arrived about 10 minutes after he did. He already had a table, so I anticipated ordering a beer and catching up with my friend. To my dismay, he didn't have a beer in front of him. He has actually been there 13 total minutes, and not a waitress had been to the table. I arrived, gave it about 5 more minutes, still nothing. I went to the hostess stand, and expressed our experience to the waitress who was watching the front door. She was VERY polite and apologetic, and told me she would find out waitress. We saw her go into the far section of the restaurant, where only one table was sat. Low and behold, out came a blonde waitress we hadn't seen there almost 20 minutes we had been at our table. She has been sitting at a customer table, I hiding it seemed. After the other waitress at the hostess stand pointed this other girl to "her" table, she still didnt even stop at our table. I had enough, which actually wasn't even a thing. She finally came to our table, and blamed her not coming on another waitress. We walked out, not even getting silverware. I did stop at the hostess stand to thank the waitress who tried to help us, and overhead other waitresses discussing how they let "our" waitress know what tables were "hers". Not sure where the problem derived, but I'll drive all the way to Airport Hooters if I ever want Hooters wings again.
Terrible experience, one of the worst I've experienced in many years. I wish I could give the other girls 4-5 stars on their own for trying to help, and only give this one...
Read moreTypical Hooters experience I guess. Hooters used to be my favorite restaurant but I have not been in a few years. The wings used to be so good but they changed them years ago and now they are still good but not like they used to be but I know that going in. The wings are also expensive but know that going in also. We ordered wings and fries. The food came out room temperature. Not cold but not hot either. We just ate and did not mention that. The food was actually pretty good. My gripe is with ordering beer. I was staying at the Courtyard 50 yards away. I picked that hotel so I could walk over to Hooters and drink as many beers as I wanted without having to drive. When traveling I enjoy watching sports and having beer. After 2 or 3 beers they gave me such a hard time about getting another one. It took a long time to get it after it was approved by the manager because it required her finger print. This is not a gripe about the employess, they do not make the policies just follow them. I get the logic behind not wanting to over serve people who are driving but it just seems to be overboard to me. I travel often. No other local bar/restaurant or corporate chain makes it so difficult to get a 3rd or 4th beer. If you want to go eat and leave I guess hooters is ok. If you would like to stay and watch a game and have a few beers Hooters is not the place to go. Did not take me long to remember why I have not been to Hooters in years. Its also probably why their competitors are expanding and they are closing restaurants.
In response to the response from the owner: I respectfully say I am 48 years old and have managed to keep myself alive all by myself so do not need you worrying about my safety. I am very aware of your alcohol and its bad policy. Thank you...
Read moreI grew up going to Hooters with my dad and brothers. Back in the 90s Hooters was poppin, but now it may be time to retire it and hang up the shorty shorts. Its Saturday, and Fight night. It was 11 when we decided we needed wings. The Hooters website said they close at 12a but Google said 1a so I called to verify. The hostess said they were open til 1a and not busy.
We were here by 1116p, the parking lot decently full but plenty of empty tables. We were seated right away and warned there was a 10$ cover charge per person. That's lame since you're not close to full and you close in 2 hrs, but whatever.
We sat until 1140p before my husband got a manager. The waitresses had wandered past multiple times and no one checked on us or offered drinks. It still took almost 10 min to get a waitress.
Our food came quickly and the manager offered a free appetizer for our trouble. The food was fine, everything as ordered, but nothing spectacular. We asked for boxes at about 1215a, which took 10 min to get even though we are sitting next to the station where they store them. The waitress hasn't been back and it's almost 1a. We just want to go home at this point.
Hang up the shorts Hooters, you are well...
