I am a freshman BHS student, and this is week 1 of my 🍴Student Eateries Series🍴

Today, I want to start this series off with a cozy restaurant: 🍜Pho Son🥪

Pho Son is basically the lite version of the famous Pho Hong restaurant, although I’ve seen that the Banh Mis here are awesome, and the service was good too! The waiters here were very nice! I arrived at around 4 PM, so I was the first customer there. Surprisingly, the food only took 10 minutes to arrive at my table! And they were freshly cooked too! I ordered a Dac Biet for my dinner today. The flavor of the broth was AMAZING, and the meal was super fulfilling. However, I expected the broth to be piping hot, but unfortunately, the temperature was just medium. But, I understand that maybe it was meant to be cooked like that or it could be a mistake. Otherwise, the pho was amazing overall, and the atmosphere was cool too! If you are tired of having to wait in line for Pho Hong, and are looking for a quick and comforting meal, come here instead!

I will be coming back soon to try their Banh Mi...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Pho Son Restaurant and I must say, it was an absolute delight. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the decor was charming and inviting.

The pho was absolutely delicious - the broth was rich and flavorful, and the noodles and toppings were perfectly cooked. I also had the pleasure of trying a few of the other dishes on the menu, and each one was equally delicious. The portions were generous and the prices were more than reasonable. My favorite drink is the Vietnamese macchiato Bubble Tea!

Overall, I had an excellent experience at Pho Son Restaurant and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious, authentic Vietnamese cuisine. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was truly exceptional. I can't wait to go back and try more dishes...

This place is a disaster. We tried to get dinner here on a Tuesday night around 7:30pm and it was predictably quiet. They had as many waiters as they did tables but it still took a while to get menus and give our order. Five minutes after they took our order we were told they were out of Pho (not a good look, but moving on). After waiting for our food for close to AN HOUR they bought out one of the three dishes. After asking what happened to rest of our food they informed us that the kitchen lost the ticket. That was about enough for us and we left. The waiters apologized but they didn't offer to comp the one dish they were able to produce or even give a discount. I worked in the food industry for a bit and I get that new places have kinks to work out but this was insane. Also, it didn't help that our $16 meatballs were dry and just meh. Needless to say, we won't...

I randomly popped in and unexpectedly enjoyed some of the best pho I’ve ever had. This laid back Vietnamese place has an extensive menu, offering many of the classics as well as some fusiony specials of the day. The pho was an enormous bowl full of quality meats, soft noodles, and tons of greens (green onion, cilantro, thai basil)- just how I like it. The star was the broth. It was complex and classic, you could taste that the aromatics had taken their time to enrich the flavor. In addition, the classic banh mi was layered with bright and fresh flavors. No skimping on meats or pate, and certainly not the spice. So good in fact, we ordered a second one before we even finished. A hidden gem of a Vietnamese cuisine amidst an American pub-tavern metropolis.

I truly don’t understand how a restaurant could mess up this bad. I have Celiac and can’t eat any gluten, which I indicated on my DoorDash order. For some reason they labeled my food as “not gluten free” and sent it anyway. We also didn’t get the noodles with our soup and our “vegetarian” rolls had chicken in them. We called to ask why they would send food (and charge us) for food we can’t eat rather than just call us to tell us to order something else and they said this is restaurant policy. Luckily, this is not a life or death issue in my home, but some allergies can kill people. Why would they send something we clearly indicated we couldn’t eat?
