Iām a elder and use to love this place⦠until I found out they use bagels that are days old and hard as can be when they run out out of the batch they make in the morning⦠I wasnāt even able to chew my bagel one time because it was so hard and I even got it steamed! Iāve seen so many things not clean about this place as well.. they donāt use gloves half the time and Iāve seen someone sweep not wash there hands after and prepare an order. I drive to Greensboro now to get my fresh bagels and meats. I also ordered a sandwich before and was served old smelling meat and was told it was okay⦠if anyoneās looking for another decent spot mikes deli is pretty good and is located down the street. A year or so ago they use to be great they had a very nice young lady working there that use to go above and beyond for customers and our orders and it was always quick service and she made sure things were fresh. It seems like since a whole new staff has been replaced over and over within the past year or so the service is slow and food just seems to get worse every visit. Not to mention they donāt even open half the time on time. I wonāt be going here anymore. This place also charges way too much for food and itās not even fresh nearly most of the time. The everything bagels use to be my favorite and have a decent amount of salt on it now itās barely any sprinkled on. I also think they need new management to be able keep this place out the ground as well⦠when I brought things to the owners attention about issues I had. Angela always seemed to have an attitude and not so nice of a response of me trying to give positive feedback. Again mikes deli is down the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo I went to this place last week with my parents, as they'd enjoyed the bagels once before, and other locals have been buzzing about it. And I'll say, the bagels were great. We each ordered a sandwich to go. There was some confusion over the "to go" part, and then over bags and cutlery, and it took a bit longer to make the sandwiches than you'd expect, but we weren't in a hurry. Here's the thing, and why they lose a couple of stars. I wanted a lox bagel. I've been craving one for a long time. I got it with all the trimmings, and they put them on: onion, capers, tomato, cream cheese, on a pumpernickel bagel. But when we got home, I discovered one mistake. They had left off the lox, completely. Best I can tell, the lady spaced out and put extra cream cheese on both halves (it was way too much), instead of putting the fish on. I did notice that when she wrote down my order on the back of a paper bag, it listed all the additional ingredients, but she didn't write down the word "lox". I made do with my cheesy caper bagel, but for the price, I'd have preferred some salmon. Still, the bagels were good, my parents' sandwiches were to order, and I'd be willing to give this place...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI walked in yesterday and said how you doin? and was greated back with how you doin? Absolutely šÆ for a score. Bagel was delicious and I went in with some doubt because my standards are high growing up on Long Island and having bagel shops on every corner. Once I took my first bite I was blown away. The cook on the bagel was perfect. The crunch and the chew of the Everything bagel (literally fresh out the oven), light creaminess of the vegetable cream cheese, and my little extra add of sliced cucumbers took me back home yesterday. It was also very nice that the owner made it a point to appreciate law enforcement infront of customers. Such a nice individual and I thank you ma'am. I will definitely be back and one of my new favorite places to go. Thanks for bringing this to Alamance County and doing what you do. This has filled a void on my food cravings list. I have been spreading the word that...
