Hursey’s Bar-B-Q — Restaurant in Burlington

About 6 weeks ago a friend picked a to go order of ribs, bbq, and chicken. When the order arrived it was all wrong! It was a bbq plate. The receipt listed the price of ribs, chicken, and bbq.

I immediately called and explained the mistake. The manager was very apologetic and offered to replace the correct order at no charge. I live 2 hours away and don’t get to Burlington very often.

Well, today 8/8/25 that same friend picked the original order for me and I gotta say it was worth the wait. The ribs are amazing as is the chicken and bbq. Love the coleslaw, fries, and hush puppies. This the first time I’ve ever tried the ribs and they were very, very good.

Thank you all for making it right and being so nice about it. I’ll be back or rather my friend will bring me some delicious...

Went 5/18/2023 and am very disappointed. Ordered, pulled to window and paid. The time on my receipt was 7:30 pm. At 7:52 I had to get the girl at the window, who was bringing food to one of the 4 cars waiting for their orders, to get my money back. She had to ask me what my order was. I really don’t blame her because she was a teenager who appeared to be trying. My complaint is there appeared to be poor management of the restaurant. Numerous other cars got there orders and left while there was a line behind us waiting for their orders. We have had other instances of missed items in our orders, dry poor tasting chicken, barely any hush puppies with our order (3). I am done with this and will be traveling elsewhere for bbq...

Disappointed with my experience tonight. I came in this evening at 8:30 to get a quick dinner. When I began to order the waitress reminded that they close at 9. Point taken. Then when I went to fill my drink there was only one pitcher of sweet tea which only served enough for two and all the spouts were already pulled off the soda machine. There were three of us eating. The food wasn't that warm and the fries and hush puppies were old. The floor was very slick like it had been mopped with a greasy mop. Very hazardous. The TV's had also been turned off. Needless to say I felt like an inconvenience to them. Food and service is usually excellent. I visited the location on south...
