I love Caribou. It is my go-to coffee shop, so I was very excited to check out the new concept. Appearance-wise it lived up to expectations. Very Minnesota cabin-like. I also love the new drink options offered here and hope it is offered at all Caribou’s eventually. The service was very fast and impressive. The female employee working the window was friendly and personable.
The only reason 5-stars was not given was due to confusion on the drinks ordered. There were five vehicles in front of us and none behind us. Upon reaching the window the lady helping us was doing great with our order. In the background I could hear an employee yelling times, which I took as how long a customer should place an order and be on their way. A great concept, but hearing it added a bit of rushed stress to us - like we were holding up a line even when no one was behind us - and seemed to fluster the employee as well. The drinks - lemon lime and mixed berry bou-sted sparkling waters - were handed to us and they looked very similar. We thought mixed berry would be pink or somehow we’d be able to tell the difference from the two. No big deal. But we thought we had the wrong order. Another employee stepped in and said what’s the issue. I’m sure he didn’t mean to be rude, but unfortunately it came across as such. The whole issue could’ve been solved if the drinks looked different or had been labeled. We felt rushed from the window by him without knowing we had the correct drinks. We ended up stopping in the parking lot to figure out what drink was what.
With saying that...it’s newly opened and I know logistics are still being worked through. I still love Caribou and hope this feedback helps correct these small issues. I’m confident when I go back to this location, the next rating...
Read moreI come to this location atleast 2 times a week in the last year and have never had a reason to complain until today. To be honest, this is my first time ever complaining on Google about any experience I’ve ever had but I was so disappointed today and it ruined my whole day. I ordered 2 drinks, one for me and one for my 4 year old daughter. When I got to the pick up window, the gentleman working asked me right away if I ordered the “hot chocolate” without even looking at me and I responded by saying “no.” He continued to look at his screen without acknowledging my response so I assumed he didn’t hear me. I went ahead and told him again that I didn’t have the hot chocolate because he didn’t acknowledge my response. He then responded by telling me (without looking at me) “ I heard you, I’m just trying to figure out your order.” It was almost like I was annoying him. I proceeded to tell him that he was rude for the way he was speaking to me and it didn’t really seem to phase him or make the situation better. He grabbed my card to complete the transaction. Gave me my card back, along with a watered down strawberry banana smoothie for my 4 year old. I asked for straws, he gave me 2 and continued to look at his screen. I told him to have a great day and he said (without looking at me) “You too” I expect better customer service when I frequent this location, and today was absolutely not. And that is why I actually gave a...
Read moreI'm still fuming after my disastrous visit to the Caribou Coffee on 42nd Street. This was my second time there, and unfortunately, it was just as bad as the first. My mom and I pulled up to the drive-thru, and the barista seemed completely uninterested in our order. When my mom asked for a latte, the barista barely acknowledged her, so I had to repeat the order multiple times. When we finally got to the window, the barista, a blonde-haired teenager who looked like she'd rather be anywhere else, sighed heavily and rolled her eyes when I reminded her that I'd also ordered a latte. I felt like she was being rude because of my skin color or my headscarf, which made the whole experience even more uncomfortable. To make matters worse, she got our order wrong, giving me a hot turtle mocha instead of the iced one I'd asked for. When my mom asked for cane sugar, the barista loudly and condescendingly repeated "10 cane sugar" despite my mom's clear request for 8. The whole experience was infuriating, and I left feeling frustrated and disappointed. Unless you want to ruin your day, I'd advise avoiding this Caribou Coffee location...
