Okay I'm giving a one star rating for a reason. As we all know we are coming off a really tough year on all of us. For me it was really bad. Do to a lung condition throughout the Covid pandemic I was forced to stay home for my health. My daughter and Ex-Wife talked me into going out to eat that it would be safe. We would take precautions. My experience has nothing to do with that. We were seated and our order was taken rather quickly. Then our wait started. I was watching people on the other side of the restaurant get their food before we were. My daughter finally got up tracked down our waitress and asked what the hold up was? She was informed there was a problem in the kitchen and they didn't get our order that it would be another five minutes. Okay I understand there was a problem but why didn't anyone come to tell us? Why did we have to track them down to find this out? Okay so like I said this is my first time eating out feeling even kind of normal in over a year. I was upset so I asked when paying if they could do something for us for the inconvenience? The waitress said she would talk to the manager. When he came back to the table she said she was sorry but all the manager could do was comp the drinks. That would be two root beers. Okay I'm not sure how many of you have worked in the industry but I have through the years. Everyone knows two sodas that is equal to about 15 cents. So what a slap in the face. I went home now upset about how they fixed it. So I wrote a letter to cooperate telling them about my experience. The District Manager and I don't want to miss speak so I'll copy and paste what he said.
(Thank you for taking the time to let me know about your experience at our restaurant. I assure you that it is not up to our standards. I have talked with our managers to insure that it does not happen again. Sincerely, Insert name here.)
okay so nothing was done at a store level and now nothing is done at this level. This has left a bad taste in my mouth when it comes to I Hop and like I told the District Manager from now on I'll take my business to Perkins or Denny's.
Here's the best part, I was going to let it go after email him back. This happened three days ago and I've gotten over it. But then Google said Hey how was your visit to I Hop Lot's of people have read your reviews and would love to hear your feed back. So Here it is. Thank Google.
Sorry if this is a little long.
I hope you all have a better...
Read moreMy son Loves IHOP. We've been to this location at least 10 times in the last 2 years. His favorite is the make your face pancakes on the kids menu. We order to go and dine in. If we do dine in we make sure that we have a lot of extra time because we know they have very limited staff. Generally 1-2 people on the floor. It takes a long while to get greeted or seated. (10 mins+). Once seated getting a drink is fairly easy but anything else takes extra time. If you're trying to reach anyone via phone, forget about it. Only time I've seen more then the 1-2 people working is later in the evenings, and I think that was on a weekend day. That's 1 time I can remember ever having more staff and busy inside, it's usually dead inside. The problem I have for this review is my dinner that I ordered to go off the app. A couple nights ago. I had forgot to ask for 2 specialty syrup when I ordered. So, I attempted to call 5 times, just because I would probably forget to ask when I got there. No one answered, but I did remember to ask. There was 1 lady working the front and the floor. She eventually greeted us and went to check on our order, I had asked her for the specialty syrups. About 5 mins or so later, she has our bag. I checked the bag for our syrups I asked for, but nothing really else. I should have because things were missing AND I got someone else full meal. My son didn't get any items to make his smile face pancake. This is what really made me upset and Now he's upset and becoming less and less of an IHOP fan, because they keep messing with his happy face pancakes. Either they are out of cherries and give us strawberries, or they forget whip cream and chocolate chips. The whole point of this kid meal option is for him to have those items to make his pancake face. 😥. Once we got around to eating the food, the waffle I ordered was dry even with the syrup. The syrup was not good either. We ordered blue berry, and butter pecan. You could barely taste them, it's like they were running out and added regular syrup to make it last longer. The only thing I was able to eat was the hash browns and eggs. The turkey bacon was hardly cooked. It was so floppy and soft. I really hope that they can hire more people and check their orders before just placing everything in 1 bag you think belongs. I got free food, cool, but someone else ended up with a bad...
Read moreDo NOT waste your time going to this IHOP. The management doesn't care and they have no customer service skills. Our food took about 45 minutes to come out but that wasn't the biggest deal. Many of the orders had things missing - we had to ask at least twice to get them, and then that took another 15 min or so. One of the salads was completely wrong and it never did come. We had asked our server to take it off the bill. When she seems like she was going to have a nervous break down, I asked to speak to the manager... here's where it gets really bad... Connie, the manager (badly thinning hair), came over to the table. She interupted me numerous times while I was trying to explain to her what went wrong. Her solution... "Well, just don't tip your server - it's all her fault". WOW - I've worked in the restaurant business for 10 years and I have never, NEVER heard a manager throw their server under the bus like that! When I said that to her, she replied with "Well, that's too bad, they were not good managers then and I feel sorry for you". Seriously? Then she blamed us, the customers by stating that we should have asked for her earlier. She goes on to state that she is NOT going to comp our entire bill because it wasn't her fault. We never asked her to do no such thing. I called her out on this management style and told her I thought her skills were seriously lacking and that we had had issues from this restaurant too many times before and that we would not be coming back to this IHOP. Her response? "That's fine - I don't care". Good Lord! I asked her for the owners/district managers contact info. She did give it to me, but they haven't called me back either. Figures... crap runs downhill. The same owner also runs the Apple Valley and the Oakdale stores I was told. Stay away from all of them! ...on a positive note, Amber, one of the shift leads was very apologetic and handled things well, and unfortunately stated that this kind of thing happens WAY too much. How sad. Sorry for making this so long, but this has got to stop - way to many bad reviews for...
