This is a “mom and pop” (comfortable casual) type Japanese restaurant and the best kind of place to get authentic cuisine. It was our first time here and it did NOT disappoint. We had the Hamachi Kama for our appetizer. This is hard to find on the menu of many Japanese restaurants, prepared correctly and with correct sauce. We hit a winner here. This really set the tempo of our experience. It is one of our favorite’s and we are happy to know they have this on their menu and prepare it perfectly. My husband ordered and beef teriyaki bowl and it looked really good and he enjoyed it. However, I was focused on my Chirashi Bowl. It was prefect in every way! It was not a small bed of sashimi on a heavy bed of rice, just the opposite. There was a lot of sashimi and it was thickly sliced and assortment was complimentary to each type of fish. It was very fresh and not fishy at all. Sometimes smaller restaurants sushi/sashimi can get that way if they aren’t busy enough to consume their inventory, but not here. I just wish there was more because it was so good- I say this as a compliment. We both got white miso with our dinners. We plan on coming back and I will up date if the experience is different. This visit was on a Friday night at 7:30 and they were quite busy. There were only 2 servers and they were doing their best to keep up. We didn’t mind. If you’re a needy type of patron then pick a less busy time to visit. You don’t want to miss this place for your sushi/sashimi, it is a...
Read moreAbsolutely my favorite restaurant hands down! This is my third time going to this restaurant. The chefs and waiters were EXTREMELY welcoming, greeting my boyfriend and I at the door. The food was out to us in less than five minutes of ordering at our table. The food presentation is out of this world! You can tell they put so much time and care into their food when they make it as it was tasty. The presentation has always been insane, putting your sushi on boats, or drawing you pictures skillfully in sauces. They were attentive to us at our table, refilled our drinks quite often. When we left they asked us if everything was good and waved goodbye.
I felt really cared for and I hope the restaurant owner reads this and knows that we see the amount of passion and love they put into their restaurant. Will be a long time customer and will recommend to all...
Read moreTsunami Sushi in Burnsville is seriously my favorite sushi place ever. I go almost every week, and it never disappoints. The food is always super fresh, the staff is friendly and welcoming, and the vibe is casual but nice, perfect for a quick lunch or dinner with friends. What I love most is that the prices are super reasonable for the quality you’re getting. You don’t have to spend a ton to get really good sushi, which is a huge win. If you’re in the Burnsville area and love sushi, Tsunami is 100% the move. I can’t recommend it enough!
Edit: this is literally the happiest place on earth. Better than Disney world, better than a trip to Spain, I wish I lived inside of tsunami so I could eat there every meal. David is the best server ever!!!! I LOVE TSUNAMI...
