The restaurant was nice and clean. There were three or four occupied tables when we arrived. The sign said, please wait to be seated so we waited around 10ish minutes. When we were seated we waited another 10 minutes to be asked what we would like to drink. As we waited I read the paper posted in the center of the table that talked about how the restaurant got its start. I was kind of excited because the place is owned by someone who is supposedly trained in culinary arts. After 15 more minutes we finally got our drinks, my coffee was Luke warm and tasted like the 3rd round of used grounds. The iced tea was OK is what my wife said and the orange juice was really good according to my 11 year old son. My wife ordered the veggie omelet they forgot the avocado. My son ordered a veggie burrito and asked for it with bacon and sausage the waitress must have forgot to write the meat down on the order slip, my son got a veggie burrito but didn't get the sausage and bacon but I did notice that the waitress remembered the extra on the bill. I ordered the George, which is eggs Benedict with a Ruben sandwich twist. 30 minutes later we got our food and to say the least I was disappointed. The omelet was runny, the boys burrito was microwaved I'm pretty sure because it was extremely hot around the outside but was barely warm inside and the tortilla was dry and crunchy where the folds met but soggy on top. The pastrami on my eggs was like the budget brand from Walmart super thin and flavorless. The potatoes that were served with the meals looked amazing but were dry and tasteless. The other tables had water we had glasses but no water. We were never offered a refill on our drinks and when asked if we would like anything else when our food was served I did ask for Tabasco the waitress said of course but did not return until it was time to present the bill. Never in my life have I eaten at a restaurant and not left a tip because I know the service industry lives on tips, but today was the first time for that. The price for portion was slightly high. The food was subpar to a decent restaurant and it the only way the service could have been worse is if the waitress was rude. She wasn't though. I know it's hard to find good help but anyone in the food service industry should at least pretend to have a personality. Everyone has an off day and maybe the chef and waitress synced up, I don't know but I do know that my family will not be giving the copper plate a...
Read moreParked in the parking structure across the street and used the app to pay for parking, only $1/hr. There is free parking in front and surrounding the restaurant as well. Outside area was clean and inviting. Entered through the doors and to the right is the restaurant. Approached the Host stand and waited to be seated. I was waiting for my friend so I waited a few minutes then I asked for a booth. Jager was very friendly and asked if we wanted anything to drink. Hailey was our server and was very friendly and knowledgeable. She took our orders and made sure that my food did not have onions in it. She was quick and checked on us as well. Gino is a very friendly guy and he would constantly check on us, offering to clear our dishes or fill our drinks. I ordered the Big Butte in burrito form and added chorizo to it. The burrito was very flavorful and I enjoyed the ratio of egg and meat with potatoes. Sometimes I get burritos at places and they stuff it with potatoes to make it full and skimp on the meat. Not this place. I was pleasantly surprised. The bacon was yummy. I ordered it extra crispy but not burnt and they came out just as I requested. Most places either burn it or they don't make it very crispy. The bacon was a decent thickness and not the flimsy cheap stuff. You can tell they use fresh, quality ingredients here. My friend got a similar item but in a bowl instead of a burrito. I LOVE that they offer this as an option. They have some great items on their menu. I also enjoyed the fact that the Chef/Owner, Vinay, would go around to the tables and chat with the guests to ensure everything was tasting good and answer any questions. You can tell he has a passion for cooking and wants to be sure everyone is truly enjoying his food. He is also creative and has some variety on his menu. I love the Indian food offerings paying tribute to his culture. Next time I return, I want to try the Butter Chicken Bowl. The customer service here is top notch and everyone was super friendly. They welcome you and make you feel like family. The place is clean, well lit, and a great atmosphere. You can even get drinks from the place next to them and have those with your meal. I will definitely be returning here next time I'm in town and will be sure to tell everyone I know about it, especially if they are traveling that way. Just be sure to check their hours since they are 7am-2pm and are closed on Mon and Tues....
Read moreI arrived at the copper plate today at 1:25. I was seated as soon as I arrived. I was brought a glass of water at 1:35. I’ve yet to see my waitress. On the bright side, it looks nice in here? I can’t rate the food, because the server still hasn’t arrived. They’ve walked past me at least a dozen times. No nod, no wave, no I’ll be with you soon. Nothing. There are at least 2 waitresses working, there are seven full booths, one table of 2 and one table of 6. There are two empty booths, and four empty tables. 1:39 - almost 15 minutes in and the server arrived! I ordered their Copper King bowl with no potatoes and no cilantro. I’m one of those lucky folks who register cilantro as soap. I ordered coffee with cream and sugar. The coffee arrived. No cream and sugar. 1:42 - Two booths have left, and one table. The table already paid, they’re just chatting. Waitress came by because she forgot the order. Still no cream and sugar. Reminded her. I now have cream and sugar. 1:46 - good news, I heard my server clarify with the kitchen no cilantro and no potatoes. Sad news, I’m out of coffee. . . 1:50 - still out of coffee, another table has emptied. 1:52 - I got more coffee and a “sorry for the delay” 1:54 - food arrived, but it’s a burrito no bowl. That’s fine. I ate quick to get back to work asap because I only booked 30 minutes, and … yeah. I paid my tab and tipped 33% because you never know someone else’s story. Maybe the better needs a...
