Hank's Bagels — Restaurant in Calabasas

Hey there! So, I stumbled upon Hanks Bagels in the Calabasas area, nestled in a small strip mall. Parking was a bit of a challenge with tight spaces, but hey, that's LA for you, right?

Now, Hanks is all about the bagels. No frills, just good ol' bagels. They've got quite the variety, and I heard they even whip up specialty bagels depending on the day. Just a heads up though, they don't do beverages or coffee here. But fear not, they've got a cute little patio outside where you can enjoy your bagel bliss.

Inside, it's clean, bright and organized. But let's talk about the service - lightning fast and super friendly. I barely had time to take in the cozy atmosphere before my order was ready.

I went for the toasted onion bagel with cream cheese, lox, tomatoes, and onions, and let me tell you, it was a game-changer. And get this, while waiting, I overheard someone raving about the "angry cream cheese." I have no idea what that entails, but count me in next time!

I’ve been searching high and low for a good bagel place after getting used to real New York bagels and so far every place in Woodland Hills/Calabasas has been supremely disappointing (even places advertising themselves as being New York style delis/bagel shops). That is, until I found Hank’s!

I found Hank’s recommended highly from a Reddit post and it lives up to the hype. It’s the closest I’ve found to a New York bagel in the Calabasas area/this side of the SFV.

I’ll keep searching closer to LA for other places that boast a good bagel, until then this is my go-to tried and true bagel place.

If you’re a bagel lover, run don’t walk to Hank’s Bagels in Calabasas. These are hands-down the best bagels I’ve ever had. What sets them apart? They’re made from sourdough, giving them a unique depth of flavor and chew that’s next level. You can taste the love and craft in every bite.
