I ordered a tres leches cake on Monday to be ready at 10 AM today (Saturday) for my daughter’s graduation party. I got there at 10 AM on the dot expecting it to be ready because I was told that it would be ready by then—it was not—they hadn’t even started decorating it. I was on a time crunch as I had people coming to my house and had someone headed to the airport that I needed to see before they left, AND I live 45 minutes away from their bakery. When you say you’ll have a product ready by a certain time then it should be— especially if it is ordered in advance. My sister asked the lady to check on the status of the cake after we had waited 15 minutes explaining we had to go, and the lady was VERY rude and snapped at her and refused to go check on the cake. She told us we could cancel the order instead—very poor customer service when this was their fault. When I went to pay for the cake, I asked for a discount because we waited over a half hour past the time they said it would be available for pick up before they got me my cake and was told no and that I could just cancel my order—even though again it WAS THEIR FAULT. And the fact that she clearly showed that she didn’t care that she made us late by shrugging her shoulders at us when I told her made it worse!! Then she had the audacity on my sisters review against them to say that I said it was fine and all was well—THAT IS NOT WHAT I SAID!!! What I said is that “fine I would take the cake” because where else am I going to get a large Tres leches cake like that last minute? NEVER did I say I was okay with all of this and satisfied with my experience. At the end my exact words were “it is what it is” because I obviously had no other options at that point. And……to top it off the cake was NOT good at all—it had areas that were very salty like the cake batter had not been mixed well. And the whipped cream on it tasted stale and strange. All in all this entire experience was very disappointing especially since we have bought breads from them many times and it was never like this so I honestly expected much better from them today. But after today’s experience we will probably be driving the extra 20 minutes to go to La Esperanza in Nampa...
Read moreI ordered a cake ( mil hojas) on Saturday and I spoke directly to the baker about what design I wanted. It was ordered to be done on Tuesday at 3pm so by the time I got off at work at 6 it would be ready. I come in around 6:30 and I tell the lady I am here for a cake and she goes to the refrigerator and says you ordered it for today I said yes and she goes to the back and finds my ticket for the cake and proceeds to ask if I ordered it thru the phone and I said no I came in person on Saturday and even spoke with the baker himself about what I wanted and she says that the ticket is there but no cake. So she proceeds to call whoever is named Patti and tells her they didn’t make my cake and the lady on the phone tells her she can come in and make me a tres leches cake and I proceed to tell her no because that’s not what I ordered and why would I give so many days in advance to get a cake that’s not what I want and for it to be rushed. I don’t have time to be waiting around. What’s the point of ordering a cake with time for them not to make it at all. She said she was embarrassed but that doesn’t do anything. This hasn’t been the first encounter. I tell them a time and they always say 30 more minutes but ends up being an hour or longer. I have given them so many chances and that is my fault....
Read moreOreo concha? Who would've thought of that? It doesn't taste straight up like oreo. Just hints of it. Overall, conchas tasted great, and they were fresh too, but a little too dense for me. I've tasted lighter ones. Cuernito was excellent. Biscuit tasted as it should, but it just crumbled easily on me. Tamales were amoizing, and they're big too. I was able to recreate part of my childhood by putting it inside a bolillo, so satisfying and left me full. And last but not least, their coffee tasted great, but uhh, can I get a lid for next time? I could've asked, but I had to go. So I don't care who you are, where you're from, or what you did as long as you try this place out. See ya next time, pipol!!! If you're a trucker, you're in luck bc it's right next to Walmart, and so there's is some...
