El Zarape Taqueria in Rancho Cordova is hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to. From the amazing lunch specials to the delicious veggie burrito, this place has it all.
The lunch specials are an excellent deal and offer a lot of variety. I was blown away by the veggie burrito, which was filled with fresh veggies and beans. But what really made it stand out was the Chile Verde sauce - it was so flavorful and delicious, I couldn't get enough of it!
The atmosphere at El Zarape is very quiet, and the service is top-notch. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, which only added to the overall great experience.
In addition to the excellent food and service, the owners of El Zarape are very kind and generous. I learned that they have donated a lot to help feed the homeless in the area. It's so great to see a restaurant that cares about the community and is willing to give back.
Overall, El Zarape Taqueria is a must-visit for anyone looking for delicious Mexican food in Rancho Cordova. The food is amazing, the service is great, and the owners are kind and generous. I highly recommend giving this...
Read moreI like the taste of El Zarape green and red sauces (like bitter of citrus) more than El Forrestero's sauces (very bitter like baking soda).
But El Zarape sauces are very watery, and makes them difficult to eat on burritos. The mess is hard to control.
I am surprised when travelling in Mexico, how many great vegetarian dishes are available out in rural villages. Yet here in California, where healthy food is actively sought, I only see Mexican veggie plates served at high end restaurants.
Example: 1/2 a Squash filled with roasted cabbage and onions, and garnished with cilantro. 1/2 a squash upside down in a microwave takes 20 minutes to cook unattended. 15 seconds of chef preparation time. Squash have at least a 2 week table top shelf life.
Grilled corn, mixed with already roasted onions, and mixed with black beans. I don't know what beans were used in Mexico. Seasoned with a little garlic. All out of grocery canned food ($2). Long shelf life.
I miss rural Mexican vegetarian cuisine. The intent wasn't to be vegetarian, it was just inexpensive delicious food...
Read moreVery friendly service and yummy food. I ordered the vegie burrito and it included sautéed yellow and green summer squash, bell peppers, onion, and included inside were lettuce, guacamole, rice, and beans. Very tasty! The extra touch was the tortilla was grilled and gave it a nice crunch. I was impressed with how fresh and hot the vegies were, cooked to order. My husband ordered the two soft taco combo with carnitas. Plentiful meat on the tacos also has lots of fresh cilantro and onions. Side of rice and beans were as expected.Chops and salsa are complimentary. Overall would return again! Especially because service was so warm and friendly. Note: they do offer hotter salsa for your chips, but you need...
