IHOP — Restaurant in California

Had a bad experience for the second time. My family and I went to eat at this ihop on a Friday morning. It looked a little busy, not too bad. The hostess told us 20 mins. So we decided to wait. 30 mins later, we still haven’t been called. My sister asked the hostess how much longer and she said 20 mins. When my sister told the hostess you told us 20 mins at first and it’s already been 30 mins and now you’re saying another 20 mins?! The hostess seemed unfazed and just said you have to wait longer. My sister looked at the hostess book and a lot of names under hers were already crossed off. We overheard the family sitting next to us say they were told the same thing. They made new plans and left to eat at Denny’s. We were deciding what to do when the hostess come up to us and says, we’re getting your table ready in 2 mins. So we decided to stay. Another 10 mins later, we were seated. The waitress was amazing though. She quickly took our order and brought out drinks. Overall, after waiting to be seated, ordering and getting the food took 2 hours. I would not have minded waiting longer for our table if the hostess was honest from the beginning. You cant just tell people 20 mins and then 30 mins later say oh you have to wait another 2 mins. All the while letting people be seated after us on the list. And then all of a sudden the table is ready in 2 mins....

I literally just came from this restaurant at this location and I can honestly say that I HAVE NEVER gotten such horrible customer service before. My family and I waited for about an hour for our food to be prepared and the restaurant was not busy at all. When we asked for a manager because we were waiting for so long, one of the staff told us that there wasnt one. What restaurant doesnt have a manager? When we were finally fed up with waiting for our food, we told our waiter that we wanted to leave because we were all hungry and our food wasnt here yet. The waiter, named Daviana, yes I will put her name on here because she was REALLY RUDE, began to raise her voice at us in a very unprofessional and rude manner. She kept saying that if we couldnt wait then it isn't her fault. She then told us that she never actually put our order in and KNOWINGLY made us wait for our food knowing damn well we will not get our food. I cannot believe the audacity this waiter had. As I am typing this, I am literally on my way to Dennys to get food because I am starving. I will keep complaining about this waiter and the service we've experienced from Daviana because she was so unprofessional and she literally yelled at my family when we didnt raise our voices at all at her. We went for a late lunch between 3 to 4pm when it's usually pretty quiet, but today everyone decided that a late lunch/early dinner sounded just perfect so IHOP was pretty busy. I was expecting that the service would be a little slow but the waitress really hustled and kept making the rounds of about eight tables, keeping up with orders, deliveries, refills and special requests. I ordered a make your way Denver omelet (ham, onions&bell peppers, and cheese) with the included side of buttermilk pancakes. It was sooo good. I missed having it on the menu until I realized that I could still order it this way. The buttermilk pancakes at IHOP are the best I've ever tasted, including homemade. This occasion was no different. The pancakes were light and fluffy, and full of amazing buttery flavor. Everyone has their favorite method for topping pancakes, but my favorite is to add lots of butter and then dip into just a bit of honey. YUM! As always, the portions are generous and I face the dilemma of eat the omelet and not have room for the pancakes. My solution is to eat half of the omelet and half of the pancakes, and then take the rest home for a second meal.
