Steve's Pizza — Restaurant in California

Ate here over a year ago and the service the was not inviting. The feel was like “what are you here”. I noticed a family that sat in spot by wall might have been owner or family of because they talk among employees. That’s cool. We were not impressed with the pizza.

Today I popped in - I’ve been wanting to give it another try. We smelled pizza from Raley’s the other day. So I used my kids EDH 25% off coupon. As I approached the counter to order the young lady had a straight face (no smile no hi - again the feel of not wanted). I showed coupon ordered a family size to go after 25% off cost was 35. I left a 5 dollar tip even though it’s for to go. After I paid I asked if you have a thin crust or thick crust or is it all the same ? She said yes there’s both. I said I’ll take the original do u recommend that? She replied yes. I would assume a good customer service would ask that first. Now I go take off to charge car come back in 25 min and sit down at bar. Same lady looks and me and my Daughter and says “yeah” as if I’m in the wrong place. Humbly I said oh I ordered a pizza to go under Mike. She grabs it from underneath right away and hands to me. Not another word. Giants just hit an inside park homer and I say to an employee wow he just did that and he looked right through me talking to someone else. Clearly this place is not struggling , doesn’t care about new customers. And is in a world of their own. Hard for me to talk about a local spot but someone has to do it. 5/30/25, I placed an order for a family size pepperoni pizza with "extra pepperoni" (charged for the extra pepperoni) and when I got home It didn't meet my expectation of what an Extra Pepperoni pizza should look like. I normally order from Mountain Mikes so if you'd ever eaten there then you know that if you ask for extra pepperoni they will load it on where yoi can't even see the cheese. I saw this to explain that maybe I have an unrealistic idea of what extra pepperoni looks like. However in my opinion this pizza had minimal pepperoni and If this is what "extra" looks like then I'd hate to see what a "regular" pepperoni pizza looks like. Regarding the taste and flavor of the pizza I thought it was really good and I also really enjoyed the flavor of the crust. I'd be willing to try again in hopes that maybe this was just a mistake and the extra wasn't put on However if your going to charge me for extra then please follow through and put it on the pizza. Awesome Pizza! Extremely flavorful crust with just the right amount of crunch and soft tug, slightly sweet with hints of herbs. My Sausage/Mushroom pizza had loads of toppings, no sausage nuggets, real Italian sausage and fresh mushrooms. The cheese was a high quality Mazzarella with a light sprinkling of smoked Gouda, YUM. Best cold breakfast pizza in years! Cheese did not rubber up in the least and crust didn't get soggy! Super nice young man (Andrew) that seemed to actually care about giving good service, how's that for a breath of fresh air! Support Local in this case... Their beer taps are selected by someone who knows what they're doing... among the best around for Craft brew, guessing 15-20 with a decent pint price... Excellent food and experience! Definitely...
