Hoss's Steak and Sea House of Ebensburg — Restaurant in Cambria Township

We pre-arranged to have dinner at Hoss's for my dad's birthday. We were seated in a private area and two waitresses took drink orders. The drinks were brought back to the table and dinner orders were taken. There were 18 others in our party besides me. I ordered fries and everyone else ordered full dinners. After about 30 minutes, the waitresses brought the food to the table and everyone was served except me. After another 15 minutes, I still didn't get my order. So when the waitress came to the table again, I said I guess you forgot about me I ordered french fries. She said sorry I'll put that in for you. Then 10 minutes later, she came back and confirmed that she put the order in. Another 30 minutes went by...everyone else was done eating and I still didn't get my order. Then the two waitresses came to the table and started handing out checks. The waitress handed me my check and I said seriously, you're gonna give me a check and I didn't even get any food. She said do you still want it? And I said no, just forget it. Ten minutes later, a different waitress came out and said I took the french fries off your bill. I said after screwing up my order TWICE, you'd think the soda would be free. She left the table and ten minutes later, came back and said your soda is free and that was that. How do you serve 18 full dinners and screwup one order of french fries TWICE?!!! I didn't make a scene because my dad is elderly and I didn't want him to get upset, especially since it was his birthday. So, I waited until I got home and wrote a complaint online and the owner sent me an email asking that I call him. I called and he said both waitresses were new and they knew they screwed up. Offered to give me a $20 giftcard to make it right so I agreed. A few days later, I get a $15 giftcard in the mail. I emailed the owner and called him on it. He said yes, it was supposed to be a $20 giftcard but they sent out giftcards to a group that day and sent me the wrong one. So not only did they screwup my order TWICE when I was there, they also screwed up their attempt to make it right. I am officially done with Hoss's and will never go there again and wouldn't recommend it to...

This Hoss's far exceeded my expectations for dinner. My family and I went for a sort of get together and there were about 10 of us. Let me first start by saying that our waitress was amazing!! She sat everyone, took our order for drinks and came back within minutes. I questioned her about my dairy allergy and she took it very seriously and immediately went back to question the manager and chefs. She also seemed very knowledgeable about the salad bar items and their ingredients. I am very impressed with her and how well she treated us and how relaxed yet attentive she was. Secondly, our food was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! Everyone got their correct food and everyone really enjoyed their meal! All of the food in the salad bar was very fresh and my steak was cooked perfectly. My dad also enjoyed his and he's always unhappy about something! Lol Lastly, I would like to thank the manager who took time to check the ingredients in the cool whip and then who sold me a frozen box out of the freezer. I have not been able to eat cool whip since before I was 7. That's 22 years without that sweet fluffy cloud-like substance that makes my taste buds oh-so happy! I'm so excited that now I can make my own cool whip and eat it on all kinds of things! This place blew me away with their food, their staff, and the overall experience I had there yesterday. Highly highly recommend! I will definitely be returning there for dinner again soon. And I'm telling everyone I know that this location is the best Hoss's around. We have always gone to the one in Richland but I don't foresee that happening again anytime soon. This restaurant was just...

The salad bar here is always amazing and the soup selection is always great. I personally prefer their chili. Their variety of different "pasta" type salads are delicious as well! Their dessert bar always has a good variety of treats.

The staff here has always treated us good and are always friendly. The place is always clean.

The ONLY reason I am giving 3 stars instead of 4 or 5 is it always seems to take forever to get our food. It took a good 30 minutes to receive our food when there were only a few tables with people in them.

I'm not a big fan of their steak. (Had the ribeye). Also wasn't a fan of their philly cheese steak. I also didn't appreciate that after such a long wait time for Chicken Fingers and Fries...they brought out the 3 tiniest Tenders I have ever seen in my life. I paid 8.99 for this meal... I will say that the quality of the chicken was good though.

The ONLY redeeming quality of the evening was the soup/salad bar. It was tasty and convenient. In fact, if it wasn't for the salad bar, we probably wouldn't have waited so long for our food and would've just left. We paid too much for such small portions of food.
