I ordered a chicken taco and when asked if I wanted hot or mild sauce, I ordered mild. I had an extreme sunburn with super chapped lips so when I took one bite of my taco it was apparent that HOT sauce had been added. I very politely returned it to the sweet server. She asked if I wanted another and I politely declined (the taco was hobbit size by the way and it does not come with rice or beans unless you want to pay an extra 5$) The lady (owner im assuming) began speaking spanish in an angry tone and shaking her head and giving the stink eye to my table which was my 3 children myself and my mother. Extremely blatant and rude. Immediately apon returning to the table my mother screached as she felt a TICK on the back of her neck. Luckily she got it off in time. And then to top it off, the clam chowder my mother ordered ( semi homemade we believe) had a huge pincher bug carcass in it. Found within 3 bites. When my mom took it to the counter the man (another owner?) asked "yea where did you get that" insinuating that my mother placed it there herself. My two oldest had scarfed down half of their 8" pizzas, which were lacking A LOT. I did not let my toddler touch her nuggets after the bugs. She unfortunately ate a few french fries. The woman started yelling at us that "people like us who pretend her food is bad". We had every intention of paying for EVERYTHING. After the insulting, rude, snooty woman we payed for ONLY the pizzas and soda and told her and her husband? to eat it themselves. We were the only customers in the establishment and I'm guessing that we should have taken that as a sign. This place is making the beauty and charm of Main street in Cambria look bad. We had come from the beach but were dressed appropriately and souvenir shopping and stopped in. What a mistake. That woman needs a reality check! She treated us like garbage. Save yourself the trouble and the money and eat ANYWHERE...
Read moreStopped here with my boyfriend and our son and my grandma for late lunch me and my boyfriend shared the 3 chicken tacos rice and beans plate and my son got a personal cheese pizza and my grandma got a burger. First red flag was when our sodas came they were all flat no bubbles at all in the cup. Second red flag was it was completely dead not a single customer also that they have a very wide menu none the less we still decided to give this place a try. When our food came the tacos looked very sad the meat smelled terrible the salsa was bubbling 😳 food was flavorless . My grandma felt bad for the place and still insisted I paid because the owner and what seemed to be his family was there but I wanted to send it back and leave. Once we drove the 3 hours back home we all got ready for bed and my son boyfriend and I started throwing up almost one after another. Luckily my grandma didn’t get sick. Called the owner the next morning and he insisted his food is good. No apology. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Very old and dingy looking. And just get water the...
Read moreJBJ Round Up Pizza is a family tradition of ours for over a decade. We discovered JBJ and Cambria, back in 2008 when we started dating. Whenever we drive up to Cambria from SoCal, our most favorite place in the world, we always stop by JBJ for pizza or street tacos. In the past, JBJ was one of the only few restaurants that remained open for Christmas day and it was always our go-to restaurant whenever we stay for Christmas week. They have recently closed shop for Christmas, which is a bummer but understandable!
Our absolute favorite menu item is their specialty Round Up Combo pizza, but they also serve other items beyond pizza, such as pasta, subs and burgers. JBJ also serve steak street tacos, which are on point and filling. Pair any menu item with a ice cold glass of 805 and call it a day!
To-date, I have not been to a pizzeria that I enjoyed more than JBJ - and we've been all over! From California to Texas, where we live now. We'll visit y'all again in...
