I love peaceful environments where you can regroup. I went in the afternoon. This place if deceptively larger than it looks and has a bathroom for use. Is also wheelchair accessible. As soon as you go in there is the drink bar to your right as well as the register. The vibe was light and airy, calming even. It would be a great early dinner spot or for lunch too. I wished my phone wasn't acting up and saying the memory was full even though it isn't. It was lovely and the food was delicious.
Everyone was friendly. It also smelled good, but not a heavy food scent in the air, just nice. I am gluten free so both sandwiches I got on their fluffy pão de queijo buns which though gluten free contain dairy & eggs. Quick FYI.
What I ordered:
1 Wicked Smoked Brisket: A little greasy and salty, but somehow still tasty. Arugula, brisket, cheese, and tomato. It was yummy. I just wish there was more brisket on it. OKAY.
1 guava pao de queijo: It arrived warm. I had guava jelly and cheese sandwiches as a kid, and this took me right back to my childhood. The cheese is in the dough. Make sure to get it warmed. It was magical and so sweet. The guava jelly oozes out once you bite into it, but there is so much in there that every bit has the jelly in it. I was surprised by the powdered sugar on top. It was magical. Though small, shockingly filling. MUST EAT. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
1 The Catch: (arugula, smokes salmon, capers, cream cheese): It is like the adult sophisticated version of lox and cream cheese on a bagel. Plenty of lox. I loved this. I grew up eating fish, and this put me in my happy place. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
1 12oz Sweetened Chai Latte: I like my chai spicey, but not to the point of burning your tongue off. This was great for me. I got it with oat milk, but they have many milk options. The perfect level of hot so I didn't scald my tongue and spend 1000 years blowing it to cool off. RECOMMEND.
Verdict: WORTH EVERY PENNY!...
Read moreI'd been wanting to check out this place for a while after seeing it on instagram, and so glad I finally checked it out! The atmosphere is so cute- looks like an incredible coffee shop to work out of.
Here's what I ordered:
Latte- great! I've got high standards for espresso drinks, and they seemed to use high quality espresso based on the taste. They also had decaf, which was great for me :)
Kombucha- it's locally sourced! I got the strawberry fields, and it was delicious!
I love pao de queijo (Brazilian cheese bread made of tapioca flour- naturally gluten-free), and I haven't had any I've enjoyed in Boston until Bom Dough! They have really unique flavors like garlic and pesto, and I chose a gluten-free sandwich (even though I'm not gluten-free- so I could try them- and also get a meal with more balanced nutrition with the avocado egg sandwich- and added salmon)! I've never had a pao de queijo as a sandwich- and thought that was fun and unique. They aren't huge here, so the two that come as a sandwich was not incredibly filling, so I'm glad that I had the protein of both the egg and salmon.
brigadero cookie- I love briagaderos (brazilian chocolate truffles) and I'd never had them inside a cookie before! The cookie was stuffed with a brigadero inside and came out warm and filled generously with the brigadero inside. Briagederos are very rich, and so was the cookie, but I love chocolate, so this was amazing for me! I split the cookie with 6 friends (the size of our group) and everyone loved it (even those that were trying to stay away from sweets said this cookie was worth it)
My friends who ordered the choice vegetarian sandwich loved that also.
Excited to come back and try the...

Over the past few months, I’ve found myself returning to this place, and with every visit, my affection for their offerings grew stronger. Their Super Rice Bowl, a hearty concoction of scrambled egg, potato, a medley of rices and grains, arugula, and pesto, is the best healthy rice bowl I’ve had in the city, bar none. If you're feeling extra indulgent, add smoked salmon for a small upcharge. It’s health-conscious comfort food at its finest; every spoonful bursts with flavors that are both satisfying and wholesome.
Then, there's the Pão de Queijo, a classic Brazilian cheese bread, except Bom Dough has different variants. Doce de leite was my favorite, and its light, fluffy center filled with sweet, milky richness of chocolate condensed milk was simply divine. I've also tried some of their other options, like the brisket ramen, which while not a showstopper like the other dishes, still held its own as a decent entrée.
From their coffee selection, I've particularly enjoyed their Doce de Leite Latte and Smoked Maple Salted Cold Brew Latte. The Doce de Leite Latte offered a balance of vanilla syrup and espresso, topped with foamy milk and a drizzle of doce de leite that added just the right amount of sweetness.
In a city chock-full of cafés, Bom Dough stands out like a lighthouse. Whether you’re searching for a hearty lunch, an inspiring brunch, or just a good cup of coffee, this café deserves to be at the top of...
