This place is exactly what we wanted....a not too hectic place in the middle of a very touristy busy place. Driving by you wouldn't have any idea what a hidden gem this is! We were met immediately by a smiling server who offered us a table inide in the busy bustle or the choice to take the next patio seat. We opted to wait, and we were glad we did. It wasnt more than 10 minutes. The patio was quieter, set back in the shade and extremely: quaint grape vines growing over the pergola roof, Picnic tables... nice and cool on a hot summer day. (From our glance inide the restaurant when we first got there we made the right choice. Inside just seemed a little noisy and too warm. ) You know how you often get ignored when you get put in the patio? Nope. Not this place. The same smiling guy came to us with menus immediately, showed us where we could help ourselves to water and then bam! The waitress was right there for our drink orders. They had quite a few beers and wines to choose from, with their specials right there on a chalkboard when you walked in. We ordered onion rings to start and they were quickly delivered. Lightly breaded in quiness batter. Perfect. I ordered the first of a few Georgetown Sweetie Pales. Delicious, not too heavy. My husband ordered the reuben with cajun tots and I had their famous halibut fish and chips. Our waitress kept my husband's tea glass filled and brought my beers quickly so we weren't feeling left alone at all. She was the best! I wish I'd caught her name. The reuben was more a pastrami sandwich with a lot of pastrami sliced and piled high on the rye bread, but it had a delicious homemade coleslaw on it and of course the dressing which brought home the "reuben" name. The cajun tots that came with his meal though, they were spot on. So yummy! My halibut were three big pieces of fresh white halibut. They weren't too thick so they'd cook too dry. Nor were they so thin that I was left hungry. They have a delicious homemade tartar sauce that came with my fish and chops. I ordered extra to dip fries in.... all in all a very delightful meal. The only thing that this place didnt have for us? Dessert. :) we love loved this place!

I had better hopes for this bakery, but it was disappointing all around. The staff was mildly friendly and helpful despite an otherwise quiet afternoon. I purchased $20+ of baked goods, but they were all low-quality. I considered returning the box and requesting a partial refund, but did not want to upset the staff. My chief concern was that I asked the staff if some of their pastry items were soft (so they could be safely consumed by my child), and I was assured they were. However, I dropped off the box with my husband, and both he and my child reported that each of the several types of cookies purchased were rock hard. This applied to the chocolate chip cookie and butter cookie. The snickerdoodle cookies were not as tough, but definitely not chewy or soft. I bought a ginger/molasses cookie, but it tasted dry and lacked the classic chewy texture of a quality one. The slice of banana bread I purchased was certainly not made fresh as the employee told me. It was a few days old. The ginger /molasses cookie was tough and a little hard. Lastly, the almond pastry tasted artificial and tough. The flavors were off, and I have never tasted an almond pastry so poorly executed. The employee was passive and uninterested in providing good service. If you have to be dishonest about your product (and it's freshness), perhaps you should not work there. To other customers: take your dollars elsewhere.

We came early around 9am on a Sunday. No social distancing but many wore masks. It wasn’t busy til after we left. I purchased a marionberry ($3.95) danish which is not my favorite but coming from HI and not having it there, wanted to indulge in something different. It was very good as well as the coffee. Coffee you pump yourself from a thermos but it was still good. Maybe I just needed caffeine. What wasn’t pleasant was the lady who serviced me which appeared to be angry. Dark hair up and older, almost scolding in manner. I have never felt any hostility in OR except from her. For no reason. She must not be the owner as who would treat customers that way, and perhaps the same individual that another complained about. Find another employment if you hate your job. It left a very distasteful taste in my mouth for being on vacation. The establishment next door was full of joy. She could learn from that place how to treat customers. Anyways as we left there were many people now waiting in line so get there early and ignore the rude lady if you love expensive pastries.

Good evening to all,

I have dined at some of the greatest restaurants and eaten at some of the finest bakeries and from every ethnic background. My relationships with some of the great chefs have proven my integrity.

I have to say that I never have I been treated so disrespectfully by any staff at any restaurant and or bakery or any business. I am not sure if it was because of my ethnic background or if she was experiencing her own personal internal conflict.

Here is a description of what happened during our visit to this bakery:

My family and I were visiting Cannon Beach and my wife was in the mood for a pastry with her coffee. I entered this bakery and only two customers were inside the bakery . Keep in mind the bakery had several printed spots on the ground for people to stand on . There were two social distancing stickers that were vacant on the floor , where no one who was standing on those stickers. Logically thinking , a prudent person could assume that the bakery was not at capacity. There was only one lady, waiting behind me, so the business was not busy whatsoever. I walked in to view the pastries from a distance to determine what I wanted, as anyone would do so, as they entered a new bakery. The couple waiting in front of me , were a good distance away from myself and the patient lady behind me when I initially entered. Suddenly an older dark haired lady yelled at us to wait outside. We both did so without any issue not understanding her own internal policies. The younger female employee by the register offered to serve me and waved me inside the store , and I entered . The older dark haired lady then asked the lady behind me as well to enter the bakery as well. I walked directly towards the younger employee as she stood by the register and asked her if she had any cookies and she referred me to the other side of the glass case to view the cookies. I walked over to view the cookies as any normal customer would to determine which item one would likely prefer to eat , and at that very moment, the older dark haired lady started inappropriately yelling at me . She started yelling at me as if I were a delinquent child. I was stunned. She stated "social distancing!..social distancing..! ..and continued yelling. During this time even the younger employee was stunned and shocked with the older lady's behavior. I kept my composure and simply told the older lady that the younger employee directed me towards that side of the bakery case. She then yelled " LEAVE!" YOU HAVE TO LEAVE NOW!. I was stunned and looked at both the younger patient employee and looked at the older offensive lady and calmly walked out without stating a word to this very rude lady. My daughter was outside waiting for me and she was also stunned what just happend. I can see how this virus has turned certain people into paranoids. Throughout this covid experience I have continued to enter many very well known bakeries in the region, but this the very worst experience I have ever encountered by any business(period). I truly hope there were no underlying biases with her behavior but it was evident that she was out of control and that her emotions had taken over her choice of words and her actions. There is truly no excuse for...

So me and my boyfriend go to Cannon Beach like 10 times a year, it’s our favorite place. We generally exclusively go any season but summer because we love the winter time seclusion, so consequently every time we have ever gone, this bakery has been closed. This year we went on July 12th, it was a Friday and it was pretty crazy all over town, which we didn’t mind. We saw this bakery was open so we decided to stop by, and barely got s chance to glance at the food, when we were greeted with such disdain by the lady behind the counter who seemed to have no patience at all for us wanting to look at the food and seeing what they had before making a decision. She had dark curly hair and made it so that we did not even spend an entire two minutes in the bakery before decided to leave without buying anything. She impatiently asked if we were ready yet, twice, and we received many eye rolls , heavy sighs, and annoyed staring while we just wanted to decide what we wanted. it was such a lame experience and I will never go back, I want baked goods made and sold with love and friendly people! She was just so incredibly rude it wasn’t worth getting anything and we went somewhere else.

Edit: I had a bad experience, and I shared it. I can promise I would not go out of my way to fabricate a fake story about my experience, I want nothing out of this, I was just sharing my experience. I went through and triple checked the dates and the location and I was very correct, maybe the woman’s hair wasn’t that curly, but she was an older woman with dark hair. I have no interest in calling this business or going any further with my experience, thus far the attitude from everyone has been rude, and if you call that an apology it kind of sucked. I am just here sharing my negative experience, and whether they believe me or not is irrelevant to my experience. It...
